Please note (as was pointed out to me :? )

Beaufort is NOT applied to gust conditions, only average values !

Noted. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I was simply following instructions put to me in a request. I thought to myself that if I didnt put something about the difference, someone would more than likely point it out to me so, I saved them the hassle.

In the original script, I used The Latest Speed. I realise this is not the average speed but It suits my needs.

hey,thanks guys.it works!!!
been cracking my mind all day at work what to try(all wrong of course  )

so what was the nag in this one?
that replace function was not in the laundry thingy.what does that do?
(good way learning this)

as the beetlejuice said, gust is not right,so i changed that for the average speed(wspeed),i only took gust for the testing.

if i want to change the colour,i can replace black eg in blue?(edit: working)and not use colourcodes?(#FFFFFF)

again,thanks
(think i go tinker a bit with it,see how it goes 8-) )

My guess would be, that as when your data is displayed, it places a comma in the data, my script could not understand the data being presented.

So Beteljuice produced an addon for my script, so that it replaces or removes the comma from the data, so that my script can produce a description for the data values.

If I recall, I did originally use Wind Speed as the data values to be used, I also believe that it was yourself who at the time, wanted to use the gust data. What I am saying is that, I was using the correct data value from the beginning.

I hope the descriptions are okay, they took some time to come up with.

Pleased to of been of help.

If I can help in the future, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Regards

yes,you did use the right value from the start(avg windspeed).
only thing was i didn,t have #wlatest on my page ,so then in my ignorance took gust.

still i can use this also for gust speed, whith some other lines.

eg "force 9 - it's wiser to take your laundry in"

Yup, persactly right - Cumulus webtags obey the 'language' of the pc they are on, In this case "," (comma) as a decimal separator. Also Cumulus webtags as such are neither string nor number !, it is upto the coding language you use to make a distinction.

JavaScript does not understand a comma as a decimal point, so we had to make sure the initial value was treated as a string (abcd) if a comma existed change for a "'.", then convert the string back to a number (123), then you can do meaningful comparrisons on it's numeric value rather it's ASCii order

This problem doesn't arise in the realtime.txt, because all values are 'code friendly'. ie 123.4.
(I think !)

True - but note that some of the tags are repeated with 'always full stop' versions:

<#RCdew> <#RCheatindex> <#RChum> <#RCinhum> <#RCintemp> <#RCpress> <#RCpressTH>
<#RCpressTL> <#RCrfall> <#RCrrate> <#RCrrateTM> <#RCtemp> <#RCtempTH> <#RCtempTL>
<#RCwchill> <#RCwgust> <#RCwgustTM> <#RCwspeed>

so if i understand it correctly,
simply said it's like the difference in currency notations regarding , or .

i believe the US uses usd1,000.00
netherlands uses euro1.000,00

if you would fill that in blindly,it would give weird accounts.

you made a thingy that automaticly converts it to the right notation(if not ,i should just stick to hardware, that's more straight forward :)

I must read the help file more often :?

They weren't there the last time I looked

Means I got some code to rewrite (simplify) now
