Geoff,

When I visit http://glovine.com.au/page/webhosting Avast is reporting "Threat Detected". The support forum returns a 404 - Not Found. They may have been the victim of a virus attack.

Ditch them and find a UK alternative even if it means paying a few quid a month. Here's a link to the top web hosting companies of 2013. http://www.top10bestwebsitehosting.co.u ... tAod6T8A2A

Wipe everything? Reformat the PC? Start from scratch? I didn't say that! I said that the instructions for the setup for moving to a new host were the same as setting it up the first time. Sorry if that wasn't clear.

As Steve has said Geoff all you need to do once you have a new web host is upload the files and create the folders as described here.

Hi yes I know I worded that wrong I no you did not say that I only was meaning to say
when people are trying to get on my freeglovine site it is sending error messages and virus
warning, so it may be easier to start from scratch and as the pc running cumulus does nothing
else so it would be easier for me to do that so there are no stray files it would be a clean fresh
start.

my apologies Steve

It does look like you would be better off switching from Freeglovine. Paid-for hosting would probably be a better choice, and it starts quite cheap. If you look in the wiki there are few recommendations from users.

Hi Steve, Ray has been telling me that I should go to a paid site for a while now its not the money
it is the thought of starting over after the problems I had getting running before do I really want to go into that again I no you have great instructions on the wiki and yourself and Ray went out of your way to help last time I really am not sure if I want to go through all that again.

Hi Geoff,

Have you contacted glovine about your issues or logged a support ticket?
I have a paid site ($8.95 p/month) with them and received several emails recently about an emergency server migration.
The last one on Monday.

Emergency Transfer of Site (UPDATE)
Mon 01/07/13 8:40 PM

This is the last final update before the competition of this on-going migration process
All websites have now been backed up and transfered accross to the new server and we have started to restore them
In the next 12hours, you may notice your website is inaccessable whilst the DNS changes propagate
If you have a dedicated IP on your website, Please open a ticket to support so we can arrange a new IP to be added to your account
If there are any issues after 6am AEST Tuesday 2nd July 2013, Please send a ticket to support outlining the nature of your issues

GloVine Web Hosting Solutions
support@glogroup.com.au

I did have issues after the update but they have now been resolved.

I'd suggest that you log a job with them or email them and see if they can fix the problem.
Why not ask about transferring your site across to one of their paid web hosting plans. They cost as little as $19.95 per year or $3.95 per month (Aussie $'s).
You get what you pay for I guess.

Hi I have tried the link support@glogroup.com.au but it just comes up with error sending
so no go on that I guess as I am a non paid account they would not send me an email
warning like you had, don't no.

If it's any consolation, it's not just your site. I've looked at a few other sites hosted by Freeglovine, and none of them work. Even freeglovine.com doesn't resolve. Perhaps they have stopped doing free hosting, or maybe it's something to do with that server move, and they have yet to get the free hosting back up again.

Thanks for that update Steve, I like I said in the last post have a few times now tried to get in contact with them no joy, If like you say that they may have stopped free hosting you would
think they would let user's know.
Steve could you tell me how it is that PWS is still getting updated if freeglovine is not, It maybe
a stupid question and you have probably got an easy answer.

Cheers

I'm not Steve but updating PWS isn't the same as updating your site. PWS is like CWOP or WU; it gets sent a string of data that it records. It's done separately within Cumulus.

Geoff,

What BigOkie means is that Cumulus can send data to lots of locations and your web site is just one of them.

Just because your web site is down it doesn't mean the other sites - PWS and WUnderground - can't receive Cumulus data.
