Hi Steve,
Is it possible in Cumulus to change the names of the pressure trends provided by the Davis Vantage Vue weather station?
Thanks,
William

Not that I'm aware of. To change the pressure trend names, you would have to switch to using the Cumulus ones, which can be modified via strings.ini.

Ok. Ok, yes but they don't match up correctly with the Davis trends.

They're not intended to. They match up correctly with the pressure trend values calculated by Cumulus.

I would assume they are, Davis seem to know what they're doing.
/can I change the Cumulus ones?
That's what I said.

Ok, so why are you not using their pressure trend scales then?
Yes I know you said I can change TO the Cumulus ones but I can't CHANGE the figures to the trend names like in PHP you can if that makes sense?

I have no idea what Davis use. Cumulus uses the ones from the UK Met Office.

You can't change the figures, no.

I'd guess that Davis use the definitions given in the Weatherlink Help (Data Calculation), ie:
The Bar Trend shows the direction of change (higher, lower, steady) of the barometric pressure over the last three hours.
The Bar Trend is updated every 15 minutes.
Rapid rise is indicated if the pressure increases >= 0.06"
Slow rise is indicated if the pressure increases >= 0.02" and < 0.06"
Steady is indicated if the pressure changes < 0.02"
Slow fall is indicated if the pressure decreases >= 0.02" and < 0.06"
Rapid fall is indicated when the pressure decreases >= 0.06"
But even this isn't 100% unambiguous. I guess it means for eg rapid fall -0.06"/3 hours but difficult to be totally sure.

Ok. Ok that's fine I'll stick with Cumulus then.
Ok, thanks.

Ok (Ok), ok:
Ok (ok, ok, ok) oh right I see so Cumulus uses the 1 hour trend and Davis uses the 3 hour trend that's why they don't match.
Ok.
Ok
Ok and ok
Ok
Ok and ok
Ok
Ok. Yes I think that's what it means as I said.

Cumulus uses a three hour trend, as I've said many times before, and as I have told you on at least two previous occasions. If you search the forum you'll see the 'bands' for each description.
I'm done here.

Well, someone has being nice enough to provide the PHP code to display what I want to achieve.
