So is NeverWetthe ultimate treatment for rain gauge collector funnels?

Sod rain funnels - I want it for my shed, my decking, my outdoor table and chairs, my shoes, my ....

Only available in the US it seems (No export, one distributor who are not including in their range outside of US)

Under 20 USD for a "safe" kit that will do 12 sq ft (approx 400ml), whilst a very unknown looky likey retails for approx £75 for the same volume.

Yes, I saw the eBay 'clone', only Home Depot in the US iirc. Can't be long before somebody starts bringing it in to the UK - hopefully. Some of the YouTube videos are pretty impressive.

You should be able to find similar products locally - e.g. those sold for car windscreens to stop streaking, or shower cubicles to stop soap film build up.

WD-40 is working for me to prevent soap scum build up on shower tiles. I have read that it works for windshields (excuse me, windscreens), etc. In general if you can't find a product to do something that has to be done - just try WD-40. I once used WD-40 very successfully to clean candle wax off an antique linen lace tablecloth. Next time I service the rain gauge I will give it a coat of WD-40.

Sounds like the super-hydrophobic Ultra Everdry that's been around for a long time. Seems working with the product is not so easy. I think I'll stick with RainX for now
