Weather Forecast
Raining all over Georgia and my forecast says sunshine, lol.. Any tweaking or other topics I can read about adjusting this somewhat to look a little more normal. Right now I'm using the Davis forecast. Do you guys find better results using the Davis forcast or the Cumulus forecast? Thanks for any info or pointing me in the right reading direction, Terry

Re: Weather Forecast
The Davis forecast is pretty accurate for me; it's usually better than the Zambretti forecast.

Re: Weather Forecast
I've just looked at an online forecast for Gray, GA, and it says partly cloudy with a chance of thunderstorms, chance of precipitation 80%. So your current Davis forecast of "Increasing clouds with little temperature change. Precipitation possible within 24 to 48 hours" looks pretty reasonable to me. No mention of sunshine.
That sun icon on your web site is presumably being driven by the Zambretti forecast number, and it looks like yours is currently saying "Settled fine". But it also looks like your web site hasn't updated for the last couple of hours.

Re: Weather Forecast
Thank you for the input I'm at work and wife at home said computer seems to be on but cannot see anything on monitor to restart it. Tried new monitor with no luck. I have to check it when I get home. Question how long will my Davis Vue hold onto the data for me in case I have to replace computer? My computer guy said it could be a power supply r video card r both he has seen in the past. Just don't want to loose any data.. Thanks again..

Re: Weather Forecast
It depends on what interval you have set for the logger in the station. It holds 2560 entries, so at 5 minute intervals, for example, that's nearly nine days.tfavors wrote:how long will my Davis Vue hold onto the data for me in case I have to replace computer?

Re: Weather Forecast
Just bear in mind that the Davis forecast is for 12 to 24 hours ahead and is only updated once per hour on the hour.

Re: Weather Forecast
Cumulus was set on one minute and the Davis station was set one minute. I changed Cumulus to 5 minute and went to change Davis to 5 minute and it said it will clear the memory so I did nothing. Is this safe to change? Thanks, Terrysteve wrote:It depends on what interval you have set for the logger in the station. Re: Weather Forecast
It's safe to do it, but it will do what it says, it will clear the station's logger memory. So you need to make sure that you have the contents already downloaded (if required); i.e. make sure Cumulus and any other software that you are using is as up to date as possible with data before you clear the memory.tfavors wrote:went to change Davis to 5 minute and it said it will clear the memory so I did nothing.
