I have just started to use Cumulus after having problems with Heavy Weather and I am very pleased. I have one problem however with web pages. I have recently changed ISPs from BT to Be and I find that when clicking on thumb nail graphs on trends page they do not display, I just get the "red cross". However this only occurs on my Be site. I can still upload to my old BT site which works fine. Obviously this is a Be host "fault" but I wondered if there is anything can be done to the software to correct this? Here are the URLs: BT which is active http://www.lauriedavid.btinternet.co.uk ... /index.htm and Be which is not being updated http://web.bethere.co.uk/lauriedavid/Weather/index.htm.
I don't know how long BT will keep my site active so I would like to make my Be site work.
I think also that real time wind gages do not work on Be either, date and time under gages not showing correctly.
Many thanks,
Cheers, lds.

Re: Trends
Your Be site is very much slower to load from here than your BT site - is it the same for you? I wonder if you are getting timeouts on uploading the images. Your realtime.txt file has not been updated for several days, hence the real time gauges not working. You do have it set to upload, I assume?
If you turn on ftp logging, the ftplog.txt and realtimeftplog.txt files may show what's going on, but I don't know if I'll be able to do anything about it. You could try active ftp mode, it may help.

Re: Trends
I am only uploading to my BT site. I included the link to my Be site so you could see what happens when you try to make the thumbnail graphs bigger. It seems a string of numbers are added to the .png file eg temp.png?1242670792615 and this is the problem with Be. And yes the Be site is slower than BT. Is possible to upload to both sites at the same time from Cumulus?
Many thanks,
Cheers, lds

Re: Trends
Right, I understand now. The random number appended to the URL is to avoid caching problems. But Be doesn't seem to like that. For example:
http://web.bethere.co.uk/lauriedavid/We ... intemp.png
works fine, but:
http://web.bethere.co.uk/lauriedavid/We ... 2671213233
gives a 404. I'm afraid I don't know why it doesn't work. You can edit the trendsT.htm file, and change this bit:
to:
That should get it working, but you may find you have caching issues (i.e. the image won't update in your browser unless you force a refresh).
I don't know why the real-time gauges aren't working. The Flash application tries to read the realtime.txt file; I guess this is something else that Be aren't allowing. I see that your wind speed unit says "The" instead of "mph" or whatever. I wonder if this is part of an error message.
You can't upload to more than one site.

Code: Select all
function changeImage(im) {

Re: Trends
In the trendsT.htm file, in the Cumulus\web folder. Near the top of the file.
I've realised that the Flash application uses a similar technique to fetch the realtime.txt file, so that will be why it doesn't work. You can't change that yourself, and I can't actually do anything about it at the moment, but even if I could it would be pointless as the realtime.txt file would get cached and the gauges wouldn't update.
Perhaps you could ask Be why they don't support URLs of the required format, and if there's a workaround? I'm not aware of anyone else having this problem.
