Hi Steve,

How are the NOAA Reports created?

I'm not sure what you mean exactly. Most of the input data comes from dayfile.txt.

Aha! That's what I mean! How come the wind speed has got .0 after it when it's in whole numbers? Also, the other thing is that I want to change the headings in the files.

The format is fixed; it's the format defined by the reports that Weatherlink produces.

But, this is Cumulus not Weatherlink... :roll:

The point is that the reports are intended to be compatible with those produced by Weatherlink.

Ok, why did you take that approach? Plus, why not allow people who use Cumulus to edit these files?

So that any existing software which relied on the format of the report would work with the reports produced by Cumulus
Plus, why not allow people who use Cumulus to edit these files?
There is a section for posting enhancement requests. Requests which are posted there have a greater than zero chance of being implemented one day.

@Wiliam

From the web "Weather Watcher Reports in NOAA National Climatic Data Center Format"

Just like METAR and TAF, there is an agreed and accepted protocol and layout (originally for telex / teletypewriters).

Yes, time has moved on, but any whistles and bells you add are on your own head until a new 'standard' is accepted.

The 'NOAA report' is a nicety that Steve added to Cumulus' functionality.
You can create whatever kind of report you want from your data - so go do it !

Looks like you've selected the UTF-8 option, but your page is ISO-8859-1

Ah! I've selected that to see if it would do anything to my original problem. But all is fine, now.
