WH 1081 Indoor Readings Stuck

Hi all, owned a WH 1081 for only a few weeks when I noticed all the indoor readings had become stuck.

On replacing the batteries, it updates to the correct temp/humidity/pressure a couple of times before sticking again.

Might be unrelated but when turning the panel on, it now defaults to having alarms activated (and flashing) on every measurement which didn't happen originally.

All external measurements seem fine. Anyone else had this??

Hi Ivan,

Welcome to the forum. No, I don't think that is a particular "known problem" with the FO stations. Maybe it "thinks" that the touchscreen is being pressed.

But in all such cases, try a "full reset", which typically requies the USB cable to be unplugged and the batteries removed for (perhaps) 5 minutes.

Cheers, Alan.

Thanks for the reply Alan.

I've tried leaving the unit powered down overnight and once I put the batteries back in, the indoor measurements seem to update for an hour or so before sticking.

I guess the sensors are faulty.

Unlikely to be all sensors....sounds more like the cpu freezing. Does it still update the time?

My indoor humidity reading has stuck itself to 85%. It was fine until I did a reset because of something else, when it got back up it had stuck on 85%.
Sometimes it goes up to 86%, but no more.

Not the worst sensor to lose, though. Not concerned. All other sensors works fine, though.

Time is fine, as are all the outdoor readings. Just the indoor temp, humidity and pressure.

Hi Ivan,

Have you seen the sticky thread of photos of the inside...? I don't know of anyone fully analysing the circuit, but the temperature and humidity sensors may be in the same module, with the pressure sensor sharing a data bus (SPI or I2C). Does the logger memory work alright, since that might also share the same data bus? But it's unlilkely anything worthwhile can be done to repair it, unless it's a "simple" case of bad soldering (which has been found fairly often).

The back can be removed reasonably easily (just many screws) but you may then get a fright extracting the PCB, when the board comes away from the LCD, so not for the faint hearted. Probably better to exchange/return to the supplier if possible.

Cheers, Alan.

Thanks for all the replies. As it was a fairly recent purchase, I took just the panel back to the excellent Swedish retailer where it was bought from and they exchanged it without any fuss.
