Bugreport after upgrade to 1.9.3
Hello , just upgraded to1.9.3 build 1059 and have started to repeatedly get a bugreport , the file is attached. I noticed that at one point there was a "device read error" could it be that a battery is failing and causing a faulty reading and so creating the report of an error. I have no idea what is happening so any advice would be welcome , thanks Dave.

Re: Bugreport after upgrade to 1.9.3
There seem to be a couple of errors; the 'device read error', and an 'out of memory' error (the first error in the file is from some time ago and unrelated). What's not clear is whether one was a result of the other, and which came first. Unfortunately it's not crashing in my code, so it's hard to say what the cause is. It was running for about 11 minutes when it crashed, is it about the same every time?
Edit: Are you using a serial/USB adapter? It appears that the COM port is disappearing, which could happen if it were a USB device which was becoming disconnected.

Re: Bugreport after upgrade to 1.9.3
Hi Steve thanks for replying so quickly. Yes I have had a long term "serial port is being used by another application" problem. Initially it occurred once or twice a month , then increased until it was several times a day. Unplugging my usb to serial port connection and restarting the Cumulus always solved the problem but now it doesn't. So i upgraded to 1.9.3 in the hope that this would solve the problem. Initially - 3 days - it did solve the issue then I began getting the bug reports. Cumulus runs on a new laptop but the WMR928 is old and has only a serial port to connect to anything. Initally i assumed that an other program was to blame but after days to trying to find a conflicting problem I changed the batteries in one of the sensors and that seemed to help. Any how I am back to square one. To answer your question it crashes at different times and can you tell me what might make the COM port disappear?
Thanks Dave
Thanks Dave

Update , Steve no bug reports now just the initial "serial port is being used by another application" and cumulus cannot collect any data.

Re: Bugreport after upgrade to 1.9.3
The COM port will disappear if the USB converter becomes disconnected as far as Windows is concerned. Note that this doesn't necessarily mean that the plug has physically been removed. More than that, I can't say, I'm afraid.
Regarding the 'serial port in use problem', when I had a WMR928, I found that if I had the station connected while Windows was loading, Windows would detect the station as some other device and open the serial port. Maybe that's the problem you're having.
I don't think changing versions of Cumulus is going to change any of this, because I don't think it's anything to do with Cumulus.

Re: Bugreport after upgrade to 1.9.3
Hi Steve thanks for your input , after a month or so of disrupted data I have eventually found the problem. The culprit was , as you rightly pointed out not Cumulus , but quite simply a faulty USB to serial port cable (only six months old) , replaced and all problems gone. Wish i had found this out sooner , thanks again for your help.
