Hi Steve,
I am new to your software i like it very much I have two questions
1. is there a way to change the colour of the text around the wind dir ?
2. when the vp data logger is used to download data is there a file or place i can look to see what data was downloaded?

Do you mean the white text on the compass? Not currently; if I get chance I will try to do this, but hopefully in Cumulus 2 everything will be configurable.

Not the 'raw' data. You can only see the data after Cumulus has processed it (each entry in the logger becomes an entry in the monthly log files).

wood the error light come on if the data did not sync from the data logger?

No, the error light is just for failed internet uploads. If you click on it, it will show you the error. You would expect to get the occasional upload error.
The number of entries downloaded from the logger is displayed in the status bar at the bottom right hand corner. If you're not getting any entries downloaded (or not as many as you expect), you can have a look in the diags files for any obvious errors, or attach them here for me to look at if you're not sure.

I'm not sure whether you think there's a problem or not. It downloaded six entries, from 10:46 to 10:51, is that not correct? Or are you wondering why the error light is flashing? The two are not related.

It looks like your station clock and your PC clock are out of sync, by 3 to 4 minutes. Yes, I know Cumulus is supposed to set the station clock if you have the option set, but I've noticed on my system that it doesn't seem to work, I haven't been able to work out why. I guess it's yet another bug in the Davis DLL. If you set your station and PC clocks to the same time, then I think you won't have any gaps.
I noticed recently that there's another new version of the Davis DLL available; I'll have a play with it and see if the clock setting works.

Actually, after a bit of experimenting, I think that the set station clock option does work, on my system anyway.

thanks Steve between my pc clock an vp2 it is 1 min off when does cumulus check an sync the clock?
does it only do it st startup or does it do it every so often as it runs?
are there an progams you like to keep the pc clock in sync if so when do you have it check?

It syncs at start up; there will always be the possibility of it being up to a minute out, as the Davis interface only allows whole minutes to be specified. I don't understand why yours appeared to be 3 or 4 minutes out. Perhaps you could have a look at the diags file the next time you start, and see if it's still the case.
To keep my PC clock correct, I just use the internet time setting in Windows.
