Guys, I have found out that the alt="something" does not show the 'something' almost all the time in my browsers (Firefox, Opera and Internet Explorer). I was told years ago that the alt="" attribute was used for readers (such as the readers for blind people).
The only image tag that seems to work on all my browsers has been the title="something"...
One warning, thought, the alt="" MUST be in included the <img /> tag to meet the W3C standards.
OK, now getting back to the original message...
I have added some stuff into the template and the JavaScript file that display the mouse-over messages to include the 3 missing gauges (wind compass, wind gauge and wind rose: histogram) - the 3 gauges now have title above the images as well as mouse-over information.
Not perfect but better than the original gauges - have a look at the following link:

Re: Missing mouseover pop-ups?
I'll take your word for it that FF obeys the title= within a <div>, but by putting it there it is conflicting with the <img title= ....
So either move the new title construct or remove the img one
BTW, Did you realize neither your ajax nor ajax gizmo appear to be working (IE8) ?
and just how wide have you made your 'native' screen ?

Re: Missing mouseover pop-ups?
beteljuice,
I know this is very un-professional (and selfish) on my part, but I have not and will not support the Microsoft Internet Explorer browser (very personal reasons) - thus, I do not care (very much nor at all) how my pages look in Internet Explorer nor if a script works or not in that browser...
The only browser which I use and support are Mozilla Firefox and Opera - I have also check my pages through Google Chrome and there was no problem displaying the gauge page.

Re: Missing mouseover pop-ups?
The beteljuice used to have a reel-to-reel Ampex video recorder, and started writing web pages for Ye Olde Netscape - majority (not quality) rule !
Running IE8 in 'compatibility' mode allows gizmo to work, but 'normal' ajax still folds (all pages)

If you have a quick look at My Station (below) and mouse-over the iPhone logo ..... is that what you are thinking of?Lanzalot wrote:Thanks for all this, but I was thinking more of an explanation than a description.

Lanzalot- the beteljuice has come up with an enhanced version of the gaugesT.htm file, which I've attached here and will include in the next Cumulus beta release. You can see it in operation here: http://sanday.org.uk/weather/gauges.htm
