Welcome to the Cumulus Support forum.

Latest Cumulus MX V4 release 4.0.1 (build 4023) - 16 May 2024

(Note that 4.1.0 (build 4024) - 05 June 2024 remains available, but usage of this version is not recommended - particularly for Davis stations - and the included utility in this distribution for migrating to v4 is known to contain errors affecting conversion of dayfile.txt)

Latest Cumulus MX V3 release 3.28.6 (build 3283) - 21 March 2024

Legacy Cumulus 1 release 1.9.4 (build 1099) - 28 November 2014
(a patch is available for 1.9.4 build 1099 that extends the date range of drop-down menus to 2030)

I've updated the Cumulus-plugin today to include the wxcurecords.php page, and add the Beta tags support to gen-CUtags.php. The Beta tags will appear in your $WX[] array if you are running the Beta version of Cumulus.

Updates from http://saratoga-weather.org/wxtemplates/updates.php

Best regards,
Ken

Indeed. Over the past days, I have modified both the 'tags.txt' and the 'CU-defs.php' to contain ALL of Cumulus 399+ webtags - not bothering with which tags are beta or not as an 'official' (non beta) version of Cumulus is about to be released.

Looks like I'm a few Beta tags short at 329 in the current prod+beta tags.txt .. guess I'll have to scour the beta forum for the missing ones.

Ray, just out of curiosity, why are you also modifying the CU-defs.php file? To add the $variablename = $WX['variablename']; entries? Did you understand that the $variablename entries in the CU-defs.php file were just to connect the Weather-Display $variablenames used in the ajax-dashboard and ajax-gizmo (so I didn't have to maintain a dashboard/gizmo for each unique weather software)? The CU-defs.php also contains functions that provide some of the needed dashboard/gizmo variables from operations on the $WX[] variables or by calling the built-in functions for moon/season ephemeris and METAR for conditions.

Of course, you're free to do with the code as you see fit, but be aware that future releases of the plugin will probably replace the CU-defs.php file as more WD:CU matching variables are implemented. Pages that you write using your custom $variablename = $WX['variablename']; addons to the CU-defs.php would be better served (and even sharable with others) if you stuck to addressing the Cumulus-specific variablenames as $WX['variablename'] .. just makes your code potentially portable to all the other Cumulus template users instead of grounding it to your specific installation.

Best regards,
Ken

Hi Beau,
I had not done a CU-trends-inc.php with the initial release as Cumulus tags to support some of the displays were just not available. With the Beta tags now filling some of that gap, I'll look at adding what can be done for a trends page.

Most notable among the missing tags are the conditions tags for 5,10,15,20,30,45,60,75,90,105,120 minutes ago information like
TIME TEMP WIND GUST DIR HUM BARO RAIN
Current 47.7 Calm None 69 30.11 0.00
5 minutes ago 47.9 0.0 0.0 WNW 69 30.111 0.00
10 minutes ago 48.0 0.0 0.0 WNW 69 30.111 0.00
15 minutes ago 48.3 0.0 0.0 WNW 68 30.110 0.00
20 minutes ago 48.8 0.0 0.0 NNW 68 30.110 0.00
30 minutes ago 49.5 0.0 0.0 N 67 30.109 0.00
45 minutes ago 50.7 0.0 0.0 N 65 30.110 0.00
60 minutes ago 51.7 0.0 0.0 N 62 30.106 0.00
75 minutes ago 52.8 0.0 0.0 N 60 30.101 0.00
90 minutes ago 53.5 0.0 0.0 N 56 30.098 0.00
105 minutes ago 54.4 0.0 0.0 N 52 30.098 0.00
120 minutes ago 55.5 0.0 2.3 NNW 48 30.096 0.00
Also things like # rain days this month, this year, #days since last rain(although I do compute that based on the timeoflastrain).

The issue was a fairly massive redo on the WD-trends-inc.php to support Cumulus, but it has the better chance of being done as neither VWS nor WeatherLink are showing signs of offering similar tags any time soon.
Best regards,
Ken

Thanks, Beau.

I've added them to the tags.txt .. just looking around the forum for additional one's I may have omitted, then will issue an update to the CU-plugin.

Ken

With more than 50 years since last Flemish schooling and then trying to understand just the basics of php, not likely will happen :!:
