Cumulus "ready made" web page question

Post by George Richardson »

Hello,

I am having a minor cosmetic problem with my "ready made" Cumulus web page. I expect there is a problem with indexT.htm but I don't know how to find it. The problem is the table of values does not compress when the window is reduced in size horizontally. The web page specifically is http://www.smlweather.com/cumulus/index.htm .

TIA

George

What browser are you using? I've just given it a quick try in Chrome, and the table compresses when I shrink the width of the window - down as far as about 1140 pixels.

Thanks for looking Steve. I'm using Firefox. The interesting thing is I also support (long distance) http://www.smlweather.com/Bluefield/index.htm and this one does compress. The original page is from Cumulus 1.9.4, build 1095 and the second page is from Cumulus 1.9.2 build 1025

The minimum width is limited by the width of the navigation bar; yours is wider (it has more items) so can't shrink as far. The only way to change that is to change the navigation bar so that it can spread onto multiple lines, e.g. by changing the "::" item separators so they have a space in them - ": :". You would need to do this to all of the template files.

Steve,

Thanks so much for humoring me. I hate it when I try things, then don't completely check for unforeseen consequences, and don't discover said consequences till so far in the future that I don't remember the original act. Oh well, I have returned the page to its original condition. Thank you for pointing me in the correct direction.

I don't think it's anything you did, George, it's how the standard page is now, with the monthly records added.
