Finally have a record from all this rain.

Consecutive rain days 22 Days to 19 Jan and it looks like today it might be a dry day at last. Could have been much better as I have recorded rain on 41 of the last 42 days.

“It's snowing still," said Eeyore gloomily.
"So it is."
"And freezing."
"Is it?"
"Yes," said Eeyore. "However," he said, brightening up a little, "we haven't had an earthquake lately.”

As expected the highest monthly rainfall figure has already been exceeded at 187.7mm, and there are several rainy days left in January. Last year's January rainfall was around average at 93mm. Around 1/5th of last years annual rainfall has fallen in the first 25 days of this year so far. I have had 44 wet days out of the last 46.

Several new records were broken in January

January's monthly rainfall total - 219.7mm. That represents 244% of the average rainfall here in January.

28 days out of 31 were 'wet days'.

Only 1 day was a frost day. (-0.1C for 10 minutes on 31st!)

A monthly wind run of 9170 miles which is an all time monthly record

A couple of records set for me in January.
Longest Wet Period of 32 days to 29th January, then a dry day on 30th January, followed by 14.1mm yesterday.
Which makes January my wettest month with 168.6mm.
Last month was my previous wettest with 162.2mm.

January 2014 has been my all-time wettest month too (I guess it's the same for many in the UK) - 207 mm, beating my previous record from October 2006 by 41 mm.

This was also the wettest January since my records began in 2003
Current record 123.1mm; my previous record was 2004 103.5mm

For those checking out my website unfortunately it is currently down due to a BT line fault which will not be fixed until at least 05/02/2014
