Welcome to the Cumulus Support forum.
Latest Cumulus MX V4 release 4.0.1 (build 4023) - 16 May 2024
(Note that 4.1.0 (build 4024) - 05 June 2024 remains available, but usage of this version is not recommended - particularly for Davis stations - and the included utility in this distribution for migrating to v4 is known to contain errors affecting conversion of dayfile.txt)
Latest Cumulus MX V3 release 3.28.6 (build 3283) - 21 March 2024
Legacy Cumulus 1 release 1.9.4 (build 1099) - 28 November 2014
(a patch is available for 1.9.4 build 1099 that extends the date range of drop-down menus to 2030)

Could you extract the attached executable, run it, and copy and paste the output here, please?

Herewith the output from dateformat.exe. BTW, all values in yesterday's extremes are now zero. I have been fiddling and this may be the reason. For instance, there were multiple dayfiles for 11 Nov, which I thought may be because of unwanted restarts, so I deleted all but the first. Right or wrong?
Short date format: 12/11/2013
Long date format: 12 November 2013

VarToDateTime is using this format to convert dates: dd/MM/yyyy

That's probably about the best you can do, yes.AntSeiderer wrote:Herewith the output from dateformat.exe. BTW, all values in yesterday's extremes are now zero. That all looks correct. Cumulus uses the same Windows routines which produced that output, so I'm afraid I have no idea why when Cumulus uses them, that last one is apparently being interpreted incorrectly. This timestamp in Cumulus:Short date format: 12/11/2013
Long date format: 12 November 2013
Short time format: 04:39 PM
Long time format: 04:39:21 PM

VarToDateTime has: 12/11/2013 04:39:21 PM
12/11/2013 10:08:13.609 : Read today file: Date = 12/11/2013, LastUpdateTime = 11/12/2013 09:34:00 AM, Month = 11
is returned from Windows in exactly the way as that last timestamp from the test program.

Hold on, you say they have not been reset? The work around of changing the date format temporarily was never going to fix your existing data, it was to stop the problem happening again. It actually looks like the change did work, because most of your extremes didn't get reset again when you restarted Cumulus? If you zip up the diags folder I'll take another look.AntSeiderer wrote:Restarted Cumulus and sadly the extremes have not been reset.

Herewith recent zip of diags folder.
Your perseverance is much appreciated. I have long suffered with a problematic system, not dreaming that anyone would put in this much time and effort to get to the bottom of my problems - thanks.

Re: La Crosse WS 2300 wrong min temp and wrong min pressure.
Windows is supplying the correct date now:
12/11/2013 17:06:18.046 : Read today file: Date = 12/11/2013, LastUpdateTime = 12/11/2013 05:06:00 PM, Month = 11
So you shouldn't have the problem again.
Sadly, I think that as a result of this problem, your existing data will be in such a broken state that I can't really see any way that you can correct it.
