I just read this on the WD forum from ALITTLEweird1...
This from sloweather on wxforum
Ken has been in the hospital since Thursday due to a mild
heart attack. They installed one stent, and he hopes to be
home tomorrow afternoon.

Please keep him and Holly in your thought and prayers.

Oh dear, hope he's soon better. My father had the same procedure several years ago; it sorted him out and he's still going strong.

Hello, Ken

Hope everything goes well which it will be. I had the same procedure done in 2010. The good thing about it is that you will have peace of mind knowing that your heart is ok and will get better then what is was before.

All the best Tony.

I initially thought this must be a misreport for another proceedure Ken has just endured (I was in contact Wednesday and he was about to visit 'the doc'), but then I saw the originater was SLOweather (Chris) so it must be true

Sorry you're having so much stress ATM Ken - take time to chill and recover properly

you deserve it

Don't want to downplay it but as iceberg and steve alluded to and my surgeon stated "that's you ok for the rest of your life" (let's hope it wasn't tongue in cheek).

Six years later and I am still going strong having given up the meds after the first year (which the surgeon had said would be easily long enough but which my GP insisted wasn't).

I "died" twice on the way to surgery and had two stents fitted, being awake (to a certain extent) throughout the procedure. Intriguing watching that wire running up inside your body all the way from a hole in the groin area.

Best wishes. It is a horrible thing to have to go through (for your relatives and friends too, probably) but after a rest and recuperation I'm sure you'll be fine.

Thank you all for your well wishes! Yes, I am back home now after a whirlwind trip through medical diagnostics starting Thurs, May 16.

I had some strange left arm pain and some squeeze/tightness of chest, called my primary doctor who said call 911.
911 responded in 4 minutes with paramedics and ambulance -- after on-site EKG, they strongly recommended transport to
emergency room for more diagnostics (it didn't completely present the classic heart-attack symptoms).

Ambulance to hospital ER where diagnostics started. Had CAT scan with contrast dye (inconclusive) but admitted anyway.
Cardiologist ordered a resting stress test on Thursday using Technetium and a 3D Gamma-ray detector .. showed just a small area at bottom of heart that looked a bit suspicious. Scheduled on Saturday 17May for 0800 angiography with possible angioplasty to follow.
Sure enough, the angiogram showed one artery with 90% occlusion which was quickly fixed with one stent. Just a 45minute process under local anesthesia and back to the hospital room for overnight observation. Sprung from hospital the next day with no more symptoms, and with some strong lifestyle changes now in effect.

Best regards,
Ken

Hi Ken,

Firstly, I am so glad you're alive!

Secondly, that sounds like a very hectic past few days you've had and you should probably stay off the forums (if that is what's causing the stress).

I hope you have the most quickest recovery ever and I hope you can get back to your normal lifestyle, soon.

Glad to hear from you,

William
