Hi Ales...

I've got 1.3 downloaded, up and running. However, I've got to have something wrong with my sunbird.txt file. This is what I'm using, but the time of sunrise/sunset has never changed since I uploaded this on July 8.
E 42° 19' 05"|N 71° 12' 12"|05:17|20:23|9.7.2012 21:51:10|Newton, MA
This is based on what forum user dunda said.

Now that I'm rereading what user Ned said, and it looks like he's saying the format should be
<#longitude>|<#latitude>|<#sunrise>|<#sunset>|<#update>|<#location>.
He also seems to be saying that sunbird.txt file should in on my local drive in the Cumulus directory. Should it go in the webfiles or web subdirectory, or in the Cumulus directory? And exactly how should the latitude and longitude be entered? My location is N 42° 19' 05" W 71° 12' 12".

Would this be correct?
N 42° 19' 05"|W 71° 12' 12"|05:17|20:23|9.7.2012 21:51:10|Newton, MA

Thanks for a great little app, and for any help you can provide.

Sunbird.txt should be in your web (C://cumulus/web) directory, and you should include it in the files to be upoaded. Check the Process and ftp boxes, but you dont need to upload it with realtime files, as it only changes on a daily basis- sunrise and sunset.

Format is:
<#longitude>|<#latitude>|<#sunrise>|<#sunset>|<#update>|<#location>

The lat and long will be picked up from Cumulus Station location settings.

Thank you.
You supplied the two missing links - 1) that it needed to be on my local drive; and 2) that it needed to be uploaded to the server. I could swear the original instructions I read said that sunbird.txt needed to be placed on the server, and I took that to mean I only had to put it there once. And while I couldn't figure out how it would get updated just sitting there all by it's lonesome on the server, it must've been a personal brain-cramp that keep me from thinking that it would be Cumulus that would take care of updating and uploading.

Truly appreciated, Gordon. All is in order now.

Usually you have to wait some hours. But it also depends on some other things.
At the moment, update is available for me.

Hi, Does anybody know where could I get data for current weather icon. This forecast data doesn't work very well for my location.

The existing system doesn't work very well for me either, so if it is just for current conditons, surely you just need to check wind, rain, temperature and solar radiation to determine a quite accurate indication of what the conditions are. I realise this wont work for people without solar, but how else are you giong to tell if it is sunny or not?

Well, I thought I can get data for icon somewhere else. For Slovenia this would not be problem. For others weather underground offer API but for limited transfers.

Ales -- any chance on the 4x2 widget you can move the "last refresh time" to the lower left and a slightly larger font? It gets a little crowded with the solar reading. Also any chance for solar/uv in the main app?

This is a great app. I no longer use the cumulus realtime widget.

I too have removed Cumulus Realtime, the author was completely unresponsive to contact - clearly not interested in the app any more.

Ales, with the 2 X 1 widget, I find sometimes it does not update for many hours, even though I have update time set to 5 minutes. Going to the app shows current realtime data, but returning to the widget, it has not updated. The 'tap the widget' options are currently: 1/ run the app, or 2/ update the widget- in which case you would need to have the shortcut to the app on your screen as well as the widget in order to get to the app.
Can these be combined, so that tapping the widget takes you to the app, as well as updates the widget? Also, perhaps have a 1 minute option for auto-updating too?

thanks.
