Re: Weather Station for Android
I have the very same questions, Gordon. I can't imagine that the file will update itself. I've noted today's times and will look at the data tomorrow.
But you're right - it doesn't really matter once 1.2 is released without the need to sunbird.txt.

Re: Weather Station for Android
Ales, for me Wind Run would be nice to have in the app. Also kWh/m^2 for the day, but I'll have to ask Steve for that one, as it isn't in realtime.txt yet
These are useful for people who have solar panels and wind generators to produce electricity.

Hi
For sunbird.txt see here:
https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=381
In 1.2 you will loose sunset and sunrise if you do not have sunbird.txt.
Regards, Ales

Re: Weather Station for Android
Ales, I have the widget working now I have sunbird.txt in place, but tonight I still see a sunny with clouds icon (I think it should show the moon instead?), despite the sun having set almost 5 hours ago. The sunrise and sunset times display correctly in the larger widget.
thanks.
thanks.

Thanks for the 1.2 update. It's working great. I look forward to you adding "evening" icons to the app.
Can you show me the format for latitude and longitude in sunbird.txt? Right now I have
N 42° 19' 05" | W 71° 12' 12"
but I don't know if that's really what it needs.
Re: Weather Station for Android
Yesterday Aleš said to me, that he will go on short vacation (today or tomorrow). So instead of him, I can show you content of my sunbird.txt:
E 14° 34' 49"|N 46° 14' 46"|05:20|20:53|10.7.2012 4:56:54|Tunjice
E 14° 34' 49"|N 46° 14' 46"|05:20|20:53|10.7.2012 4:56:54|Tunjice

Re: Weather Station for Android
Ales, there appears to be a bug in the records section, "Rainfall" is 129mm, which is my highest daily rainfall (so it should say rainfall/day), and under that is Rainfall/Hour, which currently says 0.2mm. That happens to be the rainfall for today in the 8 minutes since 9am rollover.
Now it's moved up to 0.5mm, it's still raining lightly. It's pretty wet and miserable, with storms forecast later as well, so I can see new records being set all day
For Records I think I'd rather just see a link to my Cumulus weather records page, it's not something I need to look at in a phone app, which I see as a way to keep track of the weather at home when I am not here. Perhaps some year to date data would be better instead of records?
thanks.

That's what's uploaded after the webtags in your local sunbird.txt have been processed by Cumulusdunda wrote: E 14° 34' 49"|N 46° 14' 46"|05:20|20:53|10.7.2012 4:56:54|Tunjice
It took a bit of digging, but I eventually found that sunbird.txt just consists of the following:
<#longitude>|<#latitude>|<#sunrise>|<#sunset>|<#update>|<#location>
However I've had no luck in making the app work on my LG P970 - it can't see my realtime.xml. I've been in contact with Ales but we can't find a fix (the URL I tried is identical to that used in the original Cumulus Realtime app, which continues to work)
.... possibly an invisible URL typo?

Re: Weather Station for Android
If I try yours Ned, it just sits there waiting for data. However, if I go to set the URL again, it is always missing"neil5g"and looks like homepages.ihug.co.nz/~/realtime.xml. Doesnt matter how often I put it back, it always vanishes... very strange.

I also noticed some strange numbers in rain section. Aleš is on vacation for some days. We will find a solution when he comes back.Gordon-Loomberah wrote:Ales, there appears to be a bug in the records section, "Rainfall" is 129mm, which is my highest daily rainfall (so it should say rainfall/day), and under that is Rainfall/Hour, which currently says 0.2mm. Mine just waits, but it has never corrupted the URL
Ales tried it too, and it worked for him!
