Welcome to the Cumulus Support forum.

Latest Cumulus MX V4 release 4.0.1 (build 4023) - 16 May 2024

(Note that 4.1.0 (build 4024) - 05 June 2024 remains available, but usage of this version is not recommended - particularly for Davis stations - and the included utility in this distribution for migrating to v4 is known to contain errors affecting conversion of dayfile.txt)

Latest Cumulus MX V3 release 3.28.6 (build 3283) - 21 March 2024

Legacy Cumulus 1 release 1.9.4 (build 1099) - 28 November 2014
(a patch is available for 1.9.4 build 1099 that extends the date range of drop-down menus to 2030)

Capturing a screen

Post by daj »

As is so often the case, showing a screen shot of your problem really helps others understand the issue. I am thinking specifically on the forum, but of course it can be applied to so many situations.

The key is to quickly capture the screen (or portion of screen), annotate it if necessary and upload the image.

I have written a very small article on a few ways to get a screen captured and uploaded to the forum.

Hope it helps

And for slight trickier problems, Windows 7 has the "Problem Steps Recorder" to capture a series of screen clicks, typing etc into a single zip file - can be useful in some circumstances.

David thanks for the article. If I had use a screen shot I feel like I would have seen the folly of my last post. With the article next time I will be better prepared to post.

I have used the snipping tool in W7 several times now. It really makes it easy to make a better post and help keep a picture file size down as well.

I sure thank y'all for the post.
