As is so often the case, showing a screen shot of your problem really helps others understand the issue. I am thinking specifically on the forum, but of course it can be applied to so many situations.
The key is to quickly capture the screen (or portion of screen), annotate it if necessary and upload the image.
I have written a very small article on a few ways to get a screen captured and uploaded to the forum.

And for slight trickier problems, Windows 7 has the "Problem Steps Recorder" to capture a series of screen clicks, typing etc into a single zip file - can be useful in some circumstances.

I have used the snipping tool in W7 several times now. It really makes it easy to make a better post and help keep a picture file size down as well.
