Re: New WebCams
Aurora Live now, so happy with the new Weather Webcam, she captures it better than any I have owned in the past.
Attached last 3 hour Time-Lapse.

Oh and as that link above is to auto generated 3 hourly Time-Lapse I saved the vids here : https://beaumaris-weather.com/AuroraTimelapse/ Will add Future ones here too.
My Aurora Australis (or Southern Aurora) Australian Space Weather Forecasting Center’s (BoM) Api page works well too. The last project Beteljuice and I worked on before he passed away. Sadly I ended up completing it myself.

Stunning Tony, that camera is capturing the stars very well, is that still the 4K HKVision High Resolution Bullet?

Re: New WebCams
Hi Mark,
Yes the most recent one I purchased last year to replace the original 4K HKVision.
The Camera we Use is a : 4 K ColorVu ( Low-Light ) Fixed Bullet Network Camera by hikvision.com.
Hikvision DS-2CD2T87G2-L 4K 8MP Gen2 ColorVu Bullet Camera with Acusense 60m White LED 2.8mm
High quality ( Low-Light ) imaging, 2.8 mm: horizontal FOV102°, vertical FOV 52°, diagonal FOV 124°
If it had been facing South, it would have been epic, sadly I can't justify a second camera to face South in the event it may capture and Aurora.
Oh and as that link above is to auto generated 3 hourly Time-Lapse I saved the vids here : https://beaumaris-weather.com/AuroraTimelapse/ Will add Future ones here too.

Re: New WebCams
I was waiting for the day you captured the Aurora! Very nice Tony.
The Hikvision camera (DS-2CD2087G2-LU) is the best I have ever owned, particularly for clear skies.

Cheers Matey,
Yeah I was chuffed too. Yeah definitely best Cam I've had too.
Been slack too, don't always check the Time-Lapse's (so could have missed others in the past.

Re: New WebCams
Hi,
Just an update, I suppose mainly for Mark and Tina.
I was so chuffed with the capture of the above event, that I realized it could have been so much better.
By that I am referring to the Capture Rate I use, normally I use 30 second capture (to store files on my Haydes Nuc for later creating Time-Lapse - be that last 3 hours or SunRise or SunSet or 24hr Day) and upload every one minute just for website display image.
So I have now changed that to 5 second Capture (in order to enhance the Time-Lapse visual quality especially in the event of an Aurora), obviously this increases the size of the files, thought after testing I see not much difference in local creation time or upload to server time difference. As my scripts also auto delete last seven days captured and I have a 2 TB drive local there have been now issues so far. I am so looking forward to the next Auroral event (well I say with a double edged sord, as I hate the reason Auroras occur in the first place including their potential destructive possibilities on mother earth, though like most of us on the planet enjoy the visual effect they produce to make us happy.
Will see how the next one pans out.

Away on the Isle of Wight so didn’t expect to see the aurora, however we weren’t disappointed.
Took lots of images, here’s just three.

Re: New WebCams
Hi,
Nice ones guys. not quit as good here in my location in Tassie but other parts where awesome.
My captures from this morning.
May 11, 2024 8:47 am
Well you do not see this every day.
Stormy Rain Clouds rolling in off the ocean, Southern Lights (Aurora Australis) putting on a little show to the Right (South East), Sun rising to the Left (North East) all happening above the Glistening Waves rolling into our Beach from the Tasman Sea. (Looking East by South)
https://beaumaris-weather.com/AuroraTimelapse/
However sadly I feel the webcam may have been hacked our just bombarded on the Blue-Iris Livestream (unsure but can't even connect to it now).
Globally every site that may have content has been smashed with viewers looking for Aurora Webcams and images.
Rainy here and still recovery from a recent operation, so will not be climbing up on the roof to try and reset or fix the camera, hopefully I can.
Just not available on the Lan no matter what I try.

Re: New WebCams
Hi all,
So finally installed a second cam facing due south to better capture Aurora.
Only just put it on roof a couple of days back and last night / this morn 08/10/2024 captured some good stuff.
Last nights main recordings stored here : https://beaumaris-weather.com/AuroraTim ... Oct%202024
Old East by South facing Cam :
Computer : https://beaumaris-weather.com/wxwebcamtimelapse.php
Mobile : https://beaumaris-weather.com/BWX/webcam.php
The New South facing Cam :
Computer : https://beaumaris-weather.com/wxwebcamt ... esouth.php
Mobile : https://beaumaris-weather.com/BWX/webcamsouth.php
Tonight looking good event wise, though based on my onsite forecast, cloud most likely an issue until after 01:00 / 04:00 or so, at which time it may be all over red rover (time will tell(.
Regardless, the cams will still be recording and saving time-lapse videos.

Great stuff Tony
Wonderful dark skies, and I'm completely lost finding my way around those southern star fields!

Re: New WebCams
Hi all,
Wow it has a been a while since I posted on this subject (LiveStream).
Anyway all my usual old pages and live images and Time-Lapse Vids and Aurora Vids still Automatically get produced and Upload to the Website.
However I have finally setup Both the East by South and South facing webcams (For Mark = Yes still the same ones) to Live-Stream to YouTube using the same brilliant Software by Mike from IPTimelaspe.
It all runs on my Haydes NUC Canyon (Old Win10 Pro - free upgraded to Win11 Pro) along with (WXSIM, CUMX4, FWI and much more).
So Far so good.
Hope it works your end.
https://www.youtube.com/@beaumarisweather5433/streams
Imbedded both YouTube Livestreams in most Weather Cam Pages, more still to be done later if it continues to stay consistent.
