I have had the occasional slow response in opening and searching the forum for the past few days, perhaps 3 to 5 seconds and then all ok, but overall has been working quite well for me.

Enjoy,
Paul

It's not a DNS issue. We are occasionally seeing a DOS-like flurry of requests that are hitting the wiki, which is on the same server and using the same database. I'll get some rules put in place. Patience, grasshopper.

I'm not posting a lot, but I log on to the forum about 5 to 6 times a day to see what's new (also to PM with other members who have language problems). Since this threat was posted about 3 weeks ago, I have not notice ANY "slow" periods. Maybe that's because I live in Western Canada, which is 8 or 9 hours behind Europe. @PaulMy reports "occasional slow response ", but he is 3 hours closer to the UK. It would be interesting to know if users in America or Australia with even bigger time differences have noticed slow response times, because their use of the forum would fall into the (slow?) nighttime hours of the server.

@KarlS it hasn't been a long-lasting issue - just short bursts that you would really notice if you were using the forum at the wrong time. There hasn't been any particular pattern to it - just random times when bots have been crawling the wiki and triggering high memory usage by the database.
