FTP Errors: files are created on the server but appear to be Empty
FTP Errors: files are created on the server but appear to be Empty
I don't know what is going on but since last night I have been experiencing problems with Cumulx version 1.9.4.
The Files need to be sent to the server are created but internally they are empty ( I.e. they occupy 0 Byte, also the realtime.txt file is empty)
I tried to re-install cumulx on 2 pc's doing some tests ( creating test files but the problem remains ( plus I also tried to use the old server I used a long time ago but no luck).

Are the files created locally zero length as well?
If they are correct, then you could try deleting the zero length files on your web server - FTP sometimes seems to have problems overwriting zero length files for some reason.

here are the Diags files
the only error I found is in the search for the file SRsunshine.dat: The specified file was not found (error I also found in the old files)

Re: FTP Errors: files are created on the server but appear to be Empty
Have you tried this?
Re: FTP Errors: files are created on the server but appear to be Empty
do you refer to temporary files in cumuls web folder ?
those are created without problems the only thing that comes to your mind is that forces could be the fault either of a Firewall or that forces my hosting service changed the policy of the FTP service ( which forces is not known by comuls ) 2 days ago it was not letting me access the site.
The only thing I can do is to try to install Cumuls Mx on another pc and try if the files are transferred the correct way.

No he is suggesting you delete the zeros length files on your web site, as the presence of these files can cause uploads to fail.
Re: FTP Errors: files are created on the server but appear to be Empty
theoretically it should do it automatically cumuls to delete files before uploading since the option is enabled.
Even if I do it manually the problem remains .
I think the problem really lies on the Server, it allows it to create the file but not to write them.
Tomorrow I will try to investigate by opening a ticket
Otherwise I try to install Cumulx MX and see if I can solve the problem.

I solved the problem by upgrading cumulx to the MX version now it seems to be working fine hopefully.

Re: FTP Errors: files are created on the server but appear to be Empty
To add to Paul's reply. Cumulus MX unlike C1, does not *need* to create local copies of files in order to upload them to your website. It can create them on the website and not locally.
This applies to files like realtime.txt, but it also means MX does not create the local filename.exttmp files from template files either.
