The HP10 procedure does not store the image as meteocam.jpg or as anything else. It just displays the image as given by the URL and it is changed when a new URL arrives (yes, the URL changes every image that is what makes it difficult).

Hope this clarifies.
Hans

Hi Guys,

thank you for your answers.

@hans I found a workaround, untill an update comes.

with meteobridge I capture the webcam pictures, I add some info, they are stored in the MB cloud.
I have put that cloud url manually in the meteocamrealtime.txt and it's working.
the link always refers to the latest picture stored, link never changes format, so it's always valid.

Thought it might be interesting as an optional feature to Cutils.

Could you post me the full procedure please. Thanks.
CUtils has nothing related to MeteoBridge so I doubt I will add that as a feature but it may give me other idea's.

hi Hans,

In MB you add your camera as a new device, like you add a Davis station, as "Cam". In my case case I select "external picture"
You need to enter the local url of the camera. In my case, I enter like 192.168.0.171/capture.

Then I add the camera into "weather nets". A pre-defined tool to send data to AWEKAS, weathercloud, etc....

The picture is then sent to the MB cloud at pre-defined intervals, so 5 min for me, because every 5min a new picture is taken and put on the ecowitt cloud .

On this tab, I can add additional stuff change the size, etc...
After saving, you can click on either on of the three "lenses": one without logo or info, one with info, and one with loga and or info.
A new window appears with the latest picture.
The url of this picture is always the same, this url I added manually into the meteocamrealtinme.txt file.

So it's that easy.

See screenshots and link for additional info.

H Alex,

Thanks!
OK, so that is only for MeteoBridge owners.
However, I see some inspiring ties for some another solution. I may use that sometime.
For now everybody seems happy when the new release of CMX is there. You can continue your solution of course ;)

Cheers,
Hans

Really good solution Alex, glad you have it working

Hans,

If you are thinking about an overlay .... it's something I would like to see too - I know it's on the backburner but I like it! :D

I am thinking of a review of the module including an overlay of the image.
I don't know when though ;)

thanks to all!!

@hansR if you need inspiration I can share the meteotemplate scripts I use to visuliaze them, they got also some plugins to do the same what MB does.
(it's in php).

see https://www.sint-katelijne-waver-meteo. ... esktop.php at the bottom of the page

Thanks Alex, I'll think about it but given the fact that I set my goal to not use other tools than C# and javascript, I doubt I will make use of those. CUtils is - for the user - completely independent of PHP, MySQL and other tools. I will try to keep it that way. C# should be able to do everything we need.
