If the damage is not beyond that, it's all we want as weather amateurs isn't it

Stay safe!

That's the 'best' part - most of the damage so far was last night and first thing this morning - but the weather warning only came into effect at 10 \o/HansR wrote: ↑Fri 24 Jan 2025 10:47 amIf the damage is not beyond that, it's all we want as weather amateurs isn't it![]()
Stay safe!
Gotta avoid that yellow snow!
we had 958.7 hPa 06:54 today with highest Gust at 50mph. though I am somewhat sheltered by other surrounding houses, trees etc so not entirely out in the Open.RayProudfoot wrote: ↑Fri 24 Jan 2025 4:56 pm Somewhat surprised the highest gust was just 45mph this morning. Lowest pressure was 978hPa at 05:24. Pressure now rising quickly as the storm moves NE.
Wind is the only record that concerns me. If anything was to happen to the anemometer it’s impossible for me to get to it. And a friend who can go up there is not getting any younger.![]()
Source https://x.com/metoffice/status/1882783070790758851?s=19#StormÉowyn has also been a particularly deep area of low pressure
A mean sea level pressure (MSLP) of 948.1 hPa was recorded at Magilligan as Eowyn moved past
This is the lowest MSLP value across Northern Ireland since at least 1900- and a record for the month of January
You were very lucky. How high is your anemometer? Is that your highest gust?
75ft waves. With Force 12+ it does seem possible.
