Weatherbyyou Blues 2 and MX

Post by BestGear »

Hi Guys

I am sorry to have had to ask, but I cannot find a "MX ready" wt_data" set of files for the v2 blues template.

I cannot download from the weatherbyyou website - or rather, I can download, but trying to unzip, the files show as corrupted.

I would appreciate if any kind soul can point me at a working set of these files so I can finish my move from CU V1 to MX....

Thanks in advance

David

The original template was designed for Cumulus 1 not CumulusMX so does not work and the designer has not updated it.

User Big Daddy says he has converted it but his link to the conversion does not work.

Suggest you PM (Private Message) him to ask for a copy.

Or I think he has a Contact page on his website https://www.midlifedad.me.uk/weather/

Thanks for the quick reply David.... and its a good shout!

Given how popular the weatherbyyou templates were/are, I was so surprised that very little was written about them and mx....

Will update this thread as it progresses.

Thank you

David

Hi,
I have not used Weather Blues but have in the past downloaded some of the templates. I believe the files are all ok and can open the wt- files. Not sure if this will help?

Enjoy,
Paul

Hi Paul

That looks good... would it be too much to as to zip them and attach....?

I am not sure how to confirm versions beyond the comments near the start of the file - but have seen several versions that still state 1.94 or so... I am more that happy to review and give them a whirl!

The zip on weatherbyyou has "MX" in the title from memory... but the extracted versions do not.

Thanks

Hi,
As you can see on my previous attachment the downloaded v2_2b zip is 5576 KB, and that is too large to attach here. PM and possibly I can attach to an email?

In the earlier CMX versions the webfiles were interchangeable between CU1 and CMX but that changed with the Neil Thomas updated web template. Over the recent past I have seen users posts which included their website using the Weather Blues, but can't recall if they were using CU1 or CMX. I would expect though that any of the previous template files for processing will still work with current CMX through the Extra web files settings, and the same for any customized template files for processing.

Enjoy,
Paul

Hi all,
I have attached the modified data files here. These were taken off my current setup running Cumulus MX4 install so they should be good. These are just the data files.

Files had to be modded some time ago as the formatting changed when MX originally started using .net

You would need to integrate the new graphs and moon image. I am away at the moment, back next week, so I will try and dig out the original templates that I did, although it was some time ago :( .

BestGear,

I saw your PM and have tried to reply several times but messages get stuck in my outbox. Other PM's are working so not sure if you inbox is full.If you pm me your email address, when I get back I will send you what I have.

Any problems let me know.

Andy

That is how PMs work on the forum. They stay in your outbox until the recipient reads the message (or, more strictly, when the recipient accesses their inbox). A message remaining in the outbox does NOT indicate delivery failure. It only moves to the sent box once it has been read.
