Welcome to the Cumulus Support forum.

Latest Cumulus MX V4 release 4.0.1 (build 4023) - 16 May 2024

(Note that 4.1.0 (build 4024) - 05 June 2024 remains available, but usage of this version is not recommended - particularly for Davis stations - and the included utility in this distribution for migrating to v4 is known to contain errors affecting conversion of dayfile.txt)

Latest Cumulus MX V3 release 3.28.6 (build 3283) - 21 March 2024

Legacy Cumulus 1 release 1.9.4 (build 1099) - 28 November 2014
(a patch is available for 1.9.4 build 1099 that extends the date range of drop-down menus to 2030)

CumulusMX 4 dayfile & NOAA problem

From Cumulus MX version 3 build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since, and has recently released Cumulus MX version 4. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

mcrossley wrote: Fri 24 May 2024 12:14 pm You could fix that yourself, edit the v3 copy of the dayfile in the datav3 folder, and do a global replace of "." to ":", then run the MigrateData3to4 again.
That won't work if it starts replacing decimal separators...
The source should have comma decimals and semi-colon separators :)

Interesting that the .NET 8 fi-FI locale uses ":" as the time separator (according to the log file), whereas Mono must have been using "."

Yes, datetime consistent implementation has been problematic.

But on the bright side: it was much worse 40 years ago

Now I’m glad that I haven’t had time to try to migrate to v4. This is not the first time the variations in finnish time separator cause problems. If I remember correctly, it changed between : and . also in win7->win10 migration, and the result could be different whether you did an inplace upgrade or clean install. :bash:

Tell you what, zip up your datav3 folder and attach it please, I'll test a new version of MigrateData3to4 against it. Thanks

Hi again. I edited dayfile and replaced "." to ":" and now it seems to be ok. I have Noaa-reports in folder "Reports" but in Noaa-settings folder name is NOAA-reports. Here's also the datav3 folder divided into two sections because the file size was too large.

Edit. Don't know what happened but now reports seems to be ok.

OK, all fixed I'll include this in the next build, and make a separate upload available as well - see the link to the Wiki in the pink site header above.

Your locale can use up to six-character abbreviated month names which I hadn't allowed for - I hate to think how long the full month names are!

Excellent. Haven’t got the time to test myself yet unfortunately.

But I have to disappoint you on the long month names. They are all missing only three letters ’kuu’ like tammikuu, helmikuu, maaliskuu etc. But there is a trick, in that context it means month, but used as itself kuu = moon as the one in the sky.
