Problem with version 4022
Apologies that this is is in the wrong section, but I can't find the correct one to post it.
I upgraded to Cumulus 4022 on my Linux Mint system, and when I tried to run it it returned a lot of lines referring to MXDiag etc. So I rebooted my system and tried again. This time it said something about not having a valid CTL page.
After several attempts to try and resolve this problem by removing the said version of Cumulus and reinstalling from scratch, then copying my settings and data to the new version. I tried to run 4022 again, but it still said no valid CTL page, so I removed 4022 again and reinstalled an older previous version to get it running again.

Re: Problem with version 4022
Please post a copy of the log file from MXDiags which contains these errors or a copy of the errors if they were in a console window or system log file, that way we might be able to help. Also please explain exactly how you went about starting CumulusMX.

Re: Problem with version 4022
Sorry, but I can't do that because I removed 4022 with sudo rmdir -r command and then installed 3288 again. The only way I know is to upgrade to 4022 and then run CumulusMX , which I'd rather not but if you think otherwise I will.
Err no I didn't install NET 8, should I have done.
Thanks

Yes you should have and also converted the Version 3 files to Version 4.avvy65 wrote: ↑Sun 12 May 2024 12:35 pm Sorry, but I can't do that because I removed 4022 with sudo rmdir -r command and then installed 3288 again. Please read the release notes in this post viewtopic.php?p=181488#p181488, and the additional notes on how to set it up in this Topic viewtopic.php?t=22051 (ignore the fact that these notes say Beta as it is now a general release).
All of this must done before Version 4 will run correctly. Version 4 no longer uses Mono on Linux systems, it uses .NET8.

Re: Problem with version 4022
I'm following the instruction from the link you gave but now I have a problem with the install of a library file.
E: Unable to locate package libicu72. I have libicu70 installed
E: package 'libssli.l has no installation candidate.
What now.
Thanks

Are you on an old version of Ubuntu as it is reported to be working here viewtopic.php?p=181511#p181511

Re: Problem with version 4022
I am using Linux Mint 21.3
I see that DotNet8 is actually in the software manager, and I could just install it from there.

Re: Problem with version 4022
If you follow the link within the installation instructions for "OS other than Debian 11/12", you will come to this page. You will see there that for Ubuntu 22.04, libicu70 is the correct version.

Re: Problem with version 4022
Thanks.
Anyway when I ran this:
sudo apt install zlib1g
It returned that I already had the latest version. I then installed dotnet8 from the software manager.
Anything else I should do before I try 4022 again
Following the instructions to run CumulusMX as service:
sudo dotnet CumulusMX.dll -install -user <username> [-group <groupname>] [-port port_num] [-lang <lang-code>]
returns an error saying:
Could not execute because the specified command or file was not found.
And gives possible reasons for this, like miss spelling and CumulusMX.dll does not exist.
So it seems I have to upgrade to 4022 to find out if the command line does actually run ok. Pardon me for saying, but that sounds like putting the cart before the horse.
The thing is I have been using mono for years, and now this is something different which I know nothing about
