Welcome to the Cumulus Support forum.

Latest Cumulus MX V4 release 4.0.1 (build 4023) - 16 May 2024

(Note that 4.1.0 (build 4024) - 05 June 2024 remains available, but usage of this version is not recommended - particularly for Davis stations - and the included utility in this distribution for migrating to v4 is known to contain errors affecting conversion of dayfile.txt)

Latest Cumulus MX V3 release 3.28.6 (build 3283) - 21 March 2024

Legacy Cumulus 1 release 1.9.4 (build 1099) - 28 November 2014
(a patch is available for 1.9.4 build 1099 that extends the date range of drop-down menus to 2030)

Lots of missing data

From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

Lots of missing data

Post by Sadgit »

Hello

I was away a lot last year and several times I didn't notice my RPi has locked up and I'm just getting back into sorting my weather station working correctly again.

I have about 3-4 months of missing data, not a single day missing in the other 10 years :(

What is the best way to "try" and manually enter it using maybe Wunderground?

Cheers
Mark

There is no automated way of doing this. You would have to download the wu data, convert it into Cumulus monthly log files format, then run CreateMissing to create the day file entries from the monthly logs.

@sadgit, Clicking on the link shows no weather info at all. Just a page showing explorefreeresults.com.

Have you been hacked or not renewed the domain?
Cheers,

Yeah I know it isn't automated. Just unsure how to get data from WU and then convert it?

Hosting costs were getting too high so just have it on my Nas internally for now.

Not knowing what the WU format is I haven't a clue!

But if you can get the WU data in CSV format, I'd import it into Excel (insert spreadsheet program of choice), and manipulate it in there.

A few years ago I made contact with a wxforum user on downloading from WU to Excel. I was successful to download from my WU start in 2008 through to early 2021. I have not done anything with it as I already have the same periods in my CMX. Attached is the year 2020 zipped.
I would need to do some search to remember on the steps how to download.

Enjoy,
Paul

Looks like I have a way forward... hopefully. Would this also update the missing data in the NOAA files from 2023 at midnight?

Only the current month and year files will be regenerated. You will have to manually regenerate older reports via the dashboard.
