PM2.5 Sensor (CH2) and (CH3) battery status

Post by water01 »

I don't know why but all a sudden a battery status for PM2.5 Sensor (CH2) and PM2.5 Sensor (CH3) have started showing up on my Device page for HP2551.

Now I have a PM2.5 Sensor (CH1), but I do not have the other two, but they are reporting low battery conditions (obviously as I do not have them so I cannot replace the batteries!!).

How do I stop this as they are giving me low battery alarms in CumulusMX?

Does it help to disable them (default all sensors are learning if I remember well)
NOTE: I disabled all sensors which I don't have. This improves performance as well as the GW does not have to spend time on it.

Ah you don't have a GW but an HP... does that work the same?

Still there, perhaps they upgraded the web based interface because they never used to appear.

Do they appear on the Ecowitt.net data display?

Yes they do Mark. That is where I first picked it up. It used to only show me CH1 with the correct battery level.

Now as you can see from the picture which is from the Ecowitt.net site CH2 and CH3 have appeared with low battery status.

if they had not been disabled before, they can still stay in the Ecowitt cloud dashboard for about a week or so before they disappear from there.

when sensors you don't have are not actively disabled in the console, the console may pickup signals (not even necessarily WH41/43 sensors) from the environment/neighbourhood

therefore it's common good practice to deactivate (disable) all sensors you don't have or you don't want the console to show. 8-) - as @HansR already mentioned
