Welcome to the Cumulus Support forum.

Latest Cumulus MX V4 release 4.0.1 (build 4023) - 16 May 2024

(Note that 4.1.0 (build 4024) - 05 June 2024 remains available, but usage of this version is not recommended - particularly for Davis stations - and the included utility in this distribution for migrating to v4 is known to contain errors affecting conversion of dayfile.txt)

Latest Cumulus MX V3 release 3.28.6 (build 3283) - 21 March 2024

Legacy Cumulus 1 release 1.9.4 (build 1099) - 28 November 2014
(a patch is available for 1.9.4 build 1099 that extends the date range of drop-down menus to 2030)

CUMULUS MX FTP UPLOAD

From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

CUMULUS MX FTP UPLOAD

Post by Polin79 »

Hi All,
I'd like to upload the realtime.txt CumulusMX file on a FTP server in order to use the Android App Cumulus Realtime Meteo Monitor https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... eo.cumulus which requests the URL of the realtime.txt file.
Could you kindly instruct me how to:

- Setup CumulusMX tu upload the realtime.txt file on a FTP server?
- Do you have suggestions for free FTP servers?

Thanks
Paolo

In Cumulus MX Internet settings I have activated FTP upload, but in my FTP server I find only .json files and not the realtime.txt file uploaded. Could you kindly instruct me how to upload the realtime.txt file via FTP? Thanks

Hi,
If you have correctly entered the Internet settings, including Real time interval settings and Upload the files, the \CumulusMX\realtime.txt and \CumulusMX\web\realtimegaugesT.txt will be uploaded to your remote directory at your realtime interval.

Enjoy,
Paul

I don't understand why if I select .json files in Internet Settings they are regularly uploaded to FTP, but not realtime .txt files. The latest settings are attached. Now I set the real time interval to 300 seconds which is equivalent to the ftp upload interval of 5 minutes, but nothing on the ftp server....

Thanks
Paolo

Would be helpful to see your FTP settings (make sure you blank out the password).

I have done many tests and all the 30 .json files are regularly uploaded on the FTP server, but not the realtime .txt files and I don't understand why

Hi,
Could you enable FTP logging in Program settings. and then after a few upload interval cycles check what is being logged for your uploads.
Could you also provide a link where your standard .json files are being uploaded.
Enjoy,
Paul

Hi,
Unfortunately that link doesn't work for me (doesn't look right) and gives a 404 Not Found message.

The FTP log has many errors...

Are you sure you have the correct settings in Remote FTP Directory: /public_ftp/incoming/CumulusMX
In some hostings there would be no slash (/) and also public_html rather than public_ftp, but each hosting may do things differently.
