Welcome to the Cumulus Support forum.
Latest Cumulus MX V4 release 4.0.1 (build 4023) - 16 May 2024
(Note that 4.1.0 (build 4024) - 05 June 2024 remains available, but usage of this version is not recommended - particularly for Davis stations - and the included utility in this distribution for migrating to v4 is known to contain errors affecting conversion of dayfile.txt)
Latest Cumulus MX V3 release 3.28.6 (build 3283) - 21 March 2024
Legacy Cumulus 1 release 1.9.4 (build 1099) - 28 November 2014
(a patch is available for 1.9.4 build 1099 that extends the date range of drop-down menus to 2030)

Re: wBox (weather box) in JSON version
Yes
Now I know - it's my mistake
The problem only appears at the turn of the old and new year.
This is due to the wrong way of comparing dates - I'm not taking the year, only month and day, but January (number 1) is less than December (number 12), so the system behaves as if there is no forecast.
Of course, I will change the code, but it will take me some time, and the problem will go away on January 1, 2022, so in two days
The good news is, it gives me the opportunity to wish you all a Happy New Year

Re: wBox (weather box) in JSON version
Just like that.
This year is ending and the next one is a great unknown
But on January 1, the forecast will be visible again, but it is not known what.
Isn't it beautiful?

Re: wBox (weather box) in JSON version
Thanks for pointing out what causes the issue. After you mitigate the issue, could you highlight which part of the codes you change so that I can make changes only to that part, and I don't have to re-do all my tweaks again from scratch. Thanks.Smarmen wrote: ↑Wed 29 Dec 2021 7:47 am Yes

Hi Kris,
Happy New Year to you.
Forecast came back as you said yesterday and has brought with it some warm winter weather for a few days. Nice suprise.
I have said before, I love wBox and am always looking at ways to add new features. I received a new Pi4 at Christmas so now have all my Cumulus, Webserver, wBox, scripts, webcam images etc all managed on one device. Over the holiday I added a new feature to wBox. Click on the window icon next to the cloudbase to view it. It works best during daylight hours

Have fun in 2022.

Re: wBox (weather box) in JSON version
Hi Bthofen
Of course, as soon as I find a good solution, I will write exactly what part of the code should be changed.
Hi Andy
I am very happy that you are using wBox
I like it too, and when it happened that my tablet turned off, it was somehow wild at home
I've seen your shifts and camera images before - they're wonderful
I will do something similar overlooking my garden.
As for my weather forecast mistake: I discovered that it highlights the turn of the year and I liked it very much
We run so fast now, that we don't notice things like that.

Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to share my latest "improvements" to my wBox....extended forecast.
Go to my wBox here http://midlifedad.me.uk/wBox/main.html
Click or press anywhere in the forcast section in the bottom right. Once you have viewed the forecast, click or press anywhere in this page and go back to the main wBox page.
Hope you enjoy.

Re: wBox (weather box) in JSON version
Hi,
In my opinion, Andy did a great job, I'm very happy about this
It's very interesting that we were both working on similar solutions at the same time!
The YR.NO forecast is for 7 days, so in the wBox.js library I expanded the range of available data accordingly. This way you can visualize the weekly forecast.
http://andreovia.pl/weather/wBoxH7f.html
But why use such a 'basset'? I'm using Linux Mint, where a website can be shown on the desktop via WebApp Manager - forecast is still on my desktop
I described the changes in the wBox.js library here: http://andreovia.pl/weather/wBox/readme_2022_03_06.txt
And I changed the wind icons to make it easier to see when it can blow heavily. Again, we have converging actions - me and Andy

Regards
Krzysiek (Chris)

Re: wBox (weather box) in JSON version
Hello everyone
I'm getting older... slowly so I'm starting to put my affairs in order and no longer put the weather on an external site, only on the internal network.
Current project information:
Package of files:
Greetings to everyone and I remind you that at the end of the year we will have a disappearing forecast again - it's already a tradition But the sun will shine again in the new year

Re: wBox (weather box) in JSON version
Hi Krzysiek (Chris),
Nice to see you here again. Its funny, I was just about to post news on some new changes I have made to my wbox.
Here is my latest update, I have added some of the Cumulus charts on seperate pages which can be viewed by clicking elements on the main display.
http://midlifedad.me.uk/testWbox/desk.html
Click on the following to get graphs:
Current temperature
Current wind speed
Current pressure
Sun icon - the one that shows UV level and solar radiation.
(you may need to scroll right to see this one as screen dimensions are set up to test on one of my displays which may be a different size.)
Sunrise / Sunset icon
Humidity icon
Rain icon.
Once in a graph, click anywhere in the graph to get back to the main display.
It may take a few seconds for the graphs to display.
Still some work to do on making them look nice.
I also added an animated rain icon which replaces the standard rain icon when its raining. (Works when "rain rate" is <0)

Hi Andy
I am very proud of your work! I'm glad you're developing the scripts so well by adding your own ideas. I've already looked at your graphs - they are very detailed and the idea of including links is brilliant I copied the animated rain icon - it's supposed to rain tomorrow, so I'll see how it works.
I am already retired, most of the time I work in my big garden and I said goodbye to Bill Windows - now I'm Linux on all my computers

Re: wBox (weather box) in JSON version
Hi everyone,
So a few new modifications.
I added charts for dewpoint, click on dewpoint icon
Added charts for my BBQ hut which has an external Ecowitt WH31 sensor. Click on the hut icon in the top left, next to the green house. I had to split the graphs in 2 as temperature and dewpoint are usually much lower than humidity so did not really show clearly.
Hourly forecasts for the current and next 8 hours are now available by clicking on the forecast icon in the top left section (under the house icon)
My wBox can be found online here http://midlifedad.me.uk/wBox/main.html.
Enjoy.

Re: wBox (weather box) in JSON version
Hi Andy
All your changes to the app look great! This is how my work got a second life - beautifull life, and I proudly show it to all my friends
I would love to use your changes, but I have a very modest weather station. I'm thinking of changing to a 'better model', but it's unrealistic for now.
Regards everyone
