Apart from my own weather station I also manage another persons weather station, via remote access.
To all intents and purposes the installations are the same - except he uses a WLL device and I have a VP2.
We both run CMX on dedicated laptops.
In order to fix an issue that occurred on his system a week or so ago, I needed to upgrade his CMX version - this involved going through the 3.10.0 Cumulus.ini upgrade as well as the new .htm files etc.
This all seemed to go OK - I thought!
All the new pages were displayed on his site - including a minor modification to the menu.js file (to my_menu.js).
There are now 2 new problems.
1. Looking at the index.htm pages mine (www.geoffwebber.co.uk/weather) has solar data at the bottom, his (www.charlesdowding.co.uk/weather) does not.
A similar issue occurs with gauges.htm pages - I have the solar gauge - his page does not.
Oddly Solar data is visible in both the Charts and the Annual summary pages.
I have compared the following files side by side in notepad++ (cumulus.ini, index.htm, gauges.htm), there are no significant changes - except for the ones that you might expect where the sites are different.
Looking at his local pages the solar data is being displayed.
2. When viewing the dashboard on his laptop the "Internet settings" page has no values visible on screen.
As mentioned above I have compared cumulus.ini files in notepad++ and they are identical, there are no missing sections, nor (as far as I can see) any corrupted data.
All suggestions welcome!!!

Latest Cumulus MX V4 release 4.0.1 (build 4023) - 16 May 2024
(Note that 4.1.0 (build 4024) - 05 June 2024 remains available, but usage of this version is not recommended - particularly for Davis stations - and the included utility in this distribution for migrating to v4 is known to contain errors affecting conversion of dayfile.txt)
Latest Cumulus MX V3 release 3.28.6 (build 3283) - 21 March 2024
Legacy Cumulus 1 release 1.9.4 (build 1099) - 28 November 2014

Re: A conundrum
Looking at the websitedata.json file for www.charlesdowding.co.uk/weather it shows -
"options":{
"useApparent":"0",
"showSolar":"0",
"showUV":"0"
The same file for http://www.geoffwebber.co.uk/weather/ shows -
"options":{
"useApparent":"0",
"showSolar":"1",
"showUV":"0"
showSolar needs to have a value of 1 for solar to be displayed on the website. This is selectable in the Dashboard under Settings > Display Options > General Options.
Regards,
Trevor

Re: A conundrum
This may well be browser cache related. Have you tried clearing the cache or viewing the dashboard in an incognito tab/window?

Re: A conundrum
Thanks to both of you..
.json file has been edited and now that all is good there.
Odd about the settings as some options were visible and others not.
I changed browser to Bing and all were visible - so thank you both for prompt replies.
Happy Bunny!

Re: A conundrum
Do not do that, the file is created by CMX and will be overwritten the next day with the original values. You need to change the setting in CMX (as above) that controls the value in the JSON file.
