Cumulus 1.9.4 build 1099

Post by lanfur »

Hello everyone, perhaps my question is absurd or inappropriate... but the version of Cumulus 1.9.4 build 1099 until when will it continue to work?
Thank you

Well it has already been patched for NOAA reports to 2030, so until it will no longer run under the Windows versions, then I assume 2030. But as it now supports a limited number of Weather Stations compared to CumulusMX I think it is more likely that in order to use the more modern Weather Stations you are going to have to use MX.

Be advised that if anything goes wrong with Cumulus 1 it is no longer supported, so there will be no fixes and limited help.

I hardly ever access NOAA Reports on the computer running Cumulus. I access them on my website from an iPad or Windows computer.

I’ll never use anything but Davis kit so I should be fine until I pop my clogs. My 2009 Samsung NC10 still runs albeit with a new SSD and replacement fan.
Cheers,
Ray, Cheshire.

The lid is closed 99% of the time so the display is off. I run off the battery a couple of times a week so it gets some use. During that time the lid is raised as a reminder but the display goes off in under 1 minute.

I reboot every couple of months. Everything is backed shortly after midnight to a Synology NAS box.

It’s been incredibly reliable.

and very correct Paul. I have moved it around from PC to PC through the years and she remains steadfast :)

I haven't posted in here for a very long time.

I've been using this version/build for many many years on 3 pc's without a hitch.

Currently with this config.
http://weather.gkt.net.au/stats.htm
No Monitor.

The pc reboots at 4am each morning using windows scheduler to keep things freshened up.
I use windows remote desktop for any maintenance required

No problems.

I only stopped using Cumulus 1 a month or so ago, only because my Maplin console usb lockup problem got so bad it made it unusable, the hardware that is not a Cumulus 1.
As others have said "it never goes wrong" I started with it in 2012 and it moved through a couple of PC's and Windows versions, interesting to note that it still works perfectly well on Windows 10 & 11 it did everything I wanted and I'd still use it if I could, so simple to set up
