Met office WOW

Post by geoffw »

My Met Office link stopped working at 15:55 on the 04 Jan 2021. Sadly I hadn't notices and now cannot get it to restart receiving data from my station.

I can find my station number from my settings page on the Met Office site but cannot confirm my "pin" as asked for in my Cumulus settings.

How can I find out if I have inserted the correct 'pin' in my Cumulus settings and how can I confirm whether or not it is Cumulus not sending successfully or the Met Office WOW site not responding.

Hi,
I can find my station number from my settings page on the Met Office site but cannot confirm my "pin" as asked for in my Cumulus settings.
For my CMX WOW uploads I have entered:
Site ID: [37595665]
Pin: [my password when setting up WOW]
You can see these in your Cumulus.ini file in the [WOW] section.

However signing-in to WOW website has been somewhat a challenge... but I have been able to get signed in.
and how can I confirm whether or not it is Cumulus not sending successfully or the Met Office WOW site not responding.
The MXDiags should have an entry for the upload attempts:

Code: Select all

2023-06-28 12:50:00.371 WOW URL = http://wow.metoffice.gov.uk/automaticreading?siteid=37595665&siteAuthenticationKey=******&dateutc=2023-06-28+16%3A50%3A00&winddir=332&windspeedmph=4.0&windgustmph=12.0&humidity=67&tempf=70.5&rainin=0.00&dailyrainin=0.00&baromin=29.985&dewptf=56.3&UV=6.5&solarradiation=895&softwaretype=Cumulus%20v3.25.2&action=updateraw

2023-06-28 12:50:00.799 WOW Response: OK:

I presume this is your site ID 6396059:
and WOW site: https://wow.metoffice.gov.uk/observatio ... id=6396059

Enjoy,
Paul

Yes that is my site site. I have checked MXDiags and am getting "WOW Response: ERROR - Response code= Forbidden" so it looks like an issue with my PIN.

I can't find a way to change that on my Site Page.

Geoff I just checked my WOW site and to see and presumably change the AWS 6 digit PIN log in to WOW and edit your site then it should show the PIN and presumably you can change it there. At least I saw it on mine but did not try to change it!
