Meso Map Help sort lifting a Station's Realtime.txt

Post by JennyLeez »

I sure miss betejuice :(
He always had my answers

We have a new server running php8 that some of our stations upload to.
For some reason the map script is reading the realtime.txt ok but it is not being displayed on the map.
The log is reading this:

11:55:44 Error : 'South Island Beckxxxxx 156' http://nzpws.net/beckxxxxx/realtime.txt
11:55:44 -- time: 0.665 seconds, RC=301 Moved Permanently

Could some kind person please explain what that "Moved permanently" means and what I need to do to fix it.
I can not access the php8 settings so I am unable to hunt through there but the server tech will change anything if needed.

Many thanks in advanced
Cheers
Jenny

I miss Beteljuice too, may he rest in peace.

301 errors are usually due to sites changing from http to https. In the status page for NZWN2, click on the + next to a station showing the problem and look at the headers like
<!-- headers:
HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently
Content-Type: text/html; charset=UTF-8
Location: https://tokoroaweather.net/clientraw.txt
Server: Microsoft-IIS/10.0
X-Powered-By: ASP.NET
X-Powered-By-Plesk: PleskWin
Date: Thu, 04 May 2023 01:05:25 GMT
Content-Length: 163
-->
The Location: entry shows what the URL needs to be .. in this case it's an https URL that is needed. Just change the target site entry to use https in the NZWN2-stations-cc.txt config file.

Hope this helps..
Best regards,
Ken

Thank you yes that was part of it.
The other part was :
Error: SSL: no alternative certificate subject name matches target host name 'nzpws.net'

which has also been fixed and now those stations show.
Nothing like a combination of trashed server hard drives and an upgrade to php 8 to keep me on my toes :)

Again thank you :)

Cheers
