(Note that 4.1.0 (build 4024) - 05 June 2024 remains available, but usage of this version is not recommended - particularly for Davis stations - and the included utility in this distribution for migrating to v4 is known to contain errors affecting conversion of dayfile.txt)
Legacy Cumulus 1 release 1.9.4 (build 1099) - 28 November 2014

So sorry, New Milton on the south coast, except I got 33.5 at 15:56, the wind keeps changing direction, goes SW then starts to cool a bit, veers E and promptly warms up again!
Well yesterday the max temp in sunny Jersey was 37.8C and the midnight min temp was 27.3C with the morning min at 24.8C at 6:51.
The previous max temp was 36.4C on 24 July 2019.
The forecast for today is cooler with rain at midday so maybe this evening will be a little more pleasant for us who are not used to elevated temps.
Longer term it seems like these temps will not be repeated this year, thank goodness but who knows what next year will bring.
My highest ever (since 2005 when I got my station) is 33.2°C from july 2019 yesterday I got 32.6°C. However bear in mind I am about 800 yards from the English Channel at 130 feet asl so that body of water has some effect especially with the wind being between E and SE most of the day coming off a sea at around 18°C.
Here in North Lincolnshire my record was well and truly smashed yesterday with 37.1. Now reading 39.6. I never thought I would ever see figures like this in the East Midlands - or the UK generally.
Here in Durham yesterday we just missed the July 2019 record high of 33.7c with a high of 33.2c at 17:31, though we did have a new highest minimum record of 19.4c. That record won't be beaten today but the high temperature one has been wiped out with a current high of 37.6c and we are 55°north. Normally a good few top coats colder than those of you on the south coast.
This increase at 3.9c is much higher than the previous high increase. Since my records began in 2011 the biggest increase in high temperature was in July 2019 when it went up by 2.3c form the previous July 2016 high of 31.4c, this is a a much bigger increase and they day is not over yet!
