@SJG1976 yes, a broken link and that is how it shows for me in Edge and Chrome, but the banner does show in FF. Likely the way it'll stay until/if I go to https

Enjoy,

If you want to enabled http banners on this site, then in your Edge/Chrome settings search for "Insecure settings", and add "cumulus.hosiene.co.uk" to the Allow list.

The other problem is most ad blockers will automatically block files named "banner", so don't call your script banner.php or redirect banner.png etc.

I had the problem until I excluded this forum in my adblocker app on my iPad. On my Windows 10 PC I just exclude this forum from the AdBlocker addon for Firefox.
Cheers,
Ray, Cheshire.

It still means no else running an ad blocker (who doesn't!) will see your banner though Ray. It's best to rename the script.

Rename the script Mark? Do you mean add an S after http? If not, what do I need to do?
Cheers,
Ray, Cheshire.

Change it from banner.php to something else - e.g wxsummary.php. It is the name "banner" that adblockers don't like, as it is commonly used by advertisers.

Crikey! That’s the first time I’ve heard that. Okay, on my to-do list. :D

I didn't follow his suggestion which is why I questioned it. If he'd said rename the filename banner.php to another name I'd have understood. A script can mean many things to me.

Now I am beginning to understand why Shakespeare wrote his famous what's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell just as sweet line: would this also hold truth for, let's say, a lily of the valley or would e.g. a Frenchman understand this and not point to a tulip?

:D It's probably down to me being unfamiliar with the programming language and some terms used here. I'm much more of a weather enthusiast than a programming one although I do enjoy working with software I'm comfortable with. ;)

Anyway, my b-word php file has now been changed to chlive.php so hopefully all of you can see it irrespective of whether you use adblockers or not.
Cheers,
Ray, Cheshire.
