Bonsoir,
qui peux me dire ce qu'il me faut comme élément pour libérer mon ordinateur.
Je veux ne plus laisser mon ordi allumé la nuit.
Mes fichiers pourront ils être sur cet engin?
Quel modèle ? quel prix ?
Merci
Martial

Hi Martial, personally I think the pi 4 is overkill for running Cumulus unless you also have other plans for it. The pi 4 uses *much* more power than the pi 3 and runs warm even when idle.

I have a pi 4, pi 3's, a pi 2, and a zero. All of them run Cumulus OK. Though the old pi zero is a bit slow at times. I think the new zero 2 will be much better with it's multiple CPUs, there are many people running on a zero.

My pi 4 runs Cumulus, a MySQL database, my two public websites, a Pi-hole DNS, and an MQTT service. And it still uses less than half the memory, and runs about 5% CPU nearly all the time.

I've been running CumulusMX on A Raspberry Pi 3 for the last few years.the only difference I do is all the CumulusMX Software is installed on a Mounted USB Flash Drive to save on SD Card Storage issues.

I've currently got mine pulling data from an EcoWitt Station for extra sensoensors (soil and Lightening)
A Davis Airlink
And a Davis VP2 via USB Connection.

Which is soon to be replaced with a Weather Link live.

Hope this helps..

I'm tempted to get a Pi Zero 2 (when they come back in
)

The only thing I don't think you can get working with the Pi is WXSIM (Or at Least I don't think you can)

Which would be a nice addition..

Hi Martial,

I would agree a Pi 3 is sufficient for CumulusMX.

I run it at the same time as my Flightaware Aircraft tracking setup using an SDR radio dongle connected to one USB port
The CumulusMX software is connected to a Fine Offset Weather console via one of the other USB ports.
I have also put the software onto a USB attached SSD disk drive as this does speed up performance.
The Pi is installed in a small perspex case with a fan and heat sink similar to this.
