Battery Problem WeatherLink Live

Post by The Dalek Hunter »

After a recent power outage I got an email from Davis saying the batteries in my WeatherLInk Live needed replacing. I had not set up any alerts anywhere so I assume this is automated from Davis. I replaced the batteries for some brand new ones.

After a second power outage yesterday I got a another email.

Is there a way for me to check the battery status on the device?

You can check the voltage on the WL.com web site under device info.

You can also enable the battery alarm on Cumulus MX and get the status on the dashboard.

You can quick check the WLL voltage using the MX local API - http://<<CMX_IP_Address>>:8998/api/tags/process.json?ConsoleSupplyV

You can also use the web tag <#ConsoleSupplyV> in a file, or on a web site to record the voltage.

Many thanks

I can't find battery info under device info on WL.COM

The battery status on the Dashboard is green and

http://<<CMX_IP_Address>>:8998/api/tags/process.json?ConsoleSupplyV

Returns {"ConsoleSupplyV":"4.71"}

Does this look ok?

Sorry, my mistake, that is showing the input voltage from the power supply.

You need... http://<<CMX_IP_Address>>:8998/api/tags/process.json?battery

I have set CMX to use 5.4V as the low voltage threshold - equivalent to 1.35V per cell.

On wl.com, select the "Spanner" icon, then under "device", select "Health Data"
.

DOH!!! :bash: :groan: I thought Health Data mean how human health was being affected by the weather and never bothered to look there!!! Attached is what is says!

http://<<CMX_IP_Address>>:8998/api/tags/process.json?battery returns {"battery":"5.61"}

So I presume all is good and I can ignore the warning emails from Davis?
