Thunderstorm and Heavy Rain In Progress - WD and CumulusMX No Rain Accumulation

From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

Gentlemen,
I noticed that the annual rainfall total is correct. Editing rainfall totals for the month in progress. The noaamo reports are there as well. I believe CMX is receiving the required WLL data. Changed WLL update interval to 5 min and matched CMX update interval as well. Refer to the attached MXDiag latest file. Extra Soil Temp and moisture pages have no data.

That is looking better - the multicasts are now being received OK

The data shows that you only have 1 transmitter configured in the WLL, so no extra sensor data will be received, do you have additional sensors connected to other transmitters?

PS: You can switch off the logging again now - no need to restart.

Mark,
In WLL, ID 1 is ISS and ID 2 is Soil Temp Port 1 and Soil Moisture Port 1. I configured CMX Extra Sensors and I see Soil Temp Data but no moisture data.

Sorry, my mistake, yes I see the extra temp and soil moisture data coming through.

Is the Index for your soil moisture set to TX = 2, Index = 1?

If you go into Data Logs > Extra data logs. Is data for soil moisture #1 being logged?

[if no extra data log!]...
If you go into Settings > Station Settings > Common Options. Is Log Extra Sensors ticked?

Mark,
I had soil moisture TX 2, Index 2, I changed it to Index 1. See Soil Moisture data now! Yes in Common Options I did tick Log extra sensors. Seems like CumulusMX is running fine now. Thank You! Now, next project is MXUI Website and CMXUtils......

Great - the index value tells MX which channel "on the transmitter" you want to pick up for that sensor.

Good Afternoon Mark,
I have one question / request when you have a moment of your valuable time. Could you please direct me in correcting my monthly rain so far for 2021-06? I believe I have everything else "fine-tuned" for my specific location except climate mean temperature and precipitation for noaa reports. Thank You in advance.

CumulusMX No Rain Accumulation....

Post by scudwatcher »

Gentlemen,
I know I sound like a broken record here, but trying to figure this all out. I am trying to understand how to add incoming port 22222 to Avast or Windows Defender. Not really sure which virus program to use on my Windows 10 OS. WLL is not an application? Do I add packet rules to CMX to listen incoming port 22222 from WLL? Or Weatherlink? I am certainly not an experienced webmaster here. Just trying to get this up and running for the second attempt. I tried to configure the MXUI templates, but I configured something incorrect. I deleted all files and started over from scratch. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

I haven't had to add any rules to get it working on my Windows test machine, either in Windows Firewall, or McAfee which it also runs.

But, in the Windows firewall I think you have a choice. Either create an Inbound "Program" rule for Cumulus MX that allows all connections to it. Or create an Inbound "Port" rule for UDP port 22222.

Also check if you have an inbound mDNS rule enabled as well (that allows auto-discovery to work).

Thank You, Mark. I will try later this evening EDT. I had CMX working on the first attempt. I downloaded Avast Premium Security and I believe it's the culprit.
