NOAA-reports not updating anymore, 16 digits before comma?
Hi, all
Have been running Cumulus since many years now both on Linux and Windows, and always without hiccups but now with the last versions my NOAA-reports won't work anymore.
I am getting numbers way out too large with many digits before or after comma. Has anyone experienced this before?
I am running the latest version and i will include a few screenshots....? Can someone help me out here?

Hi, Mark!
I wanted to include that but it was 22 Mb in size so that is a little too big, which files do you need from in there?

The latest log file that covers generating a NOAA report will do.

So its the values for the various Heat base, Cool base, and rain thresholds that have gone whacky in the your config file. I suspect that it may be overflowing some calculations with such big numbers.
Can you check the Cumulus.ini files in your backup folder, and find one with the real values and copy it back (with Cumulus stopped) and see what happens?

I removed your Cumulus,ini file, it contained your FTP password, it looks like one other person downloaded the file so you may want to change that password.
Right, working through your log file...
1. You have the Davis logger set to 5 minutes, but Cumulus is set to 1 minute (do you really need 1 minute?) so the start-up is going to be slow every time as the logger sends its entire contents to Cumulus.
2. Your Console clock is 187 seconds adrift but automatic setting is disabled - you should set the clock manually.
3. Your logger did not contain any data at all in the entire contents. Was that expected?
4. You have a problem with line 11 of your Dayfile.txt...
Error at line 11 of dayfile.txt: De waarde is te groot of te klein voor een Int32.
Next your Cumulus.ini file. If you look at the [NOAA} section (line 1131 onwards), you still have bad values for various entries...
HeatingThreshold=182999992370605
CoolingThreshold=182999992370605
RainComp1=200000002980232
The default values for those would be...
HeatingThreshold=18.3
CoolingThreshold=18.3
RainComp1=0.2
It looks like there was a locale issue somehow, that interpreted 18.2999992370605 as 182999992370605 - i.e. taking the "." as a thousands separator rather than a decimal.
You need to edit the Cumulus.ini file and teh dayfile with Cumulus stopped to fix these problems, then start it up again.

It was I and MarkC replied before I was ready to submit my findings on the NOAA the same way.
I just went to the Cumulus.ini NOAA settings and nothing further. I have deleted the download file.
Enjoy,
Paul

Hi, all
Thank you, i overlooked the ftp-pass But many thanks for the info, i have reset that interval some times now but it always kicks back to 5 minutes. And the logger is always emptied as i start-up Cumulus. But i will try these pointers and let you know!

How have you set the logger logging interval? With the WeatherLink software?
It looks like your logger may have a fault. But first I'd try resetting it with a full console power down (power and batteries out) remove the logger from the console and re-insert it.

Re: NOAA-reports not updating anymore, 16 digits before comma?
Hi All!
My reports are getting better now but still a little glitch, when i recreate the reports. You can see what's wrong in the attach. i corrected the Cumulus.ini and dayfile, but this happens now. I have ticked the option in the settings to synchronize the time between the station and the computer-time, looks like i have the check some batteries in my Davis-station, it's 11 years old now and still working fine, just had to replace the supercap and the windvane. I have another question, is there a possibility to include a Lufdaten-finedust sensor as an extra sensor, because they are also giving temp and humidity readings?
Marc from WXEkeren,

Your heating and cooling degree days are still massive numbers instead of the default 18.3 though.

You still have a problem with your heating degree days. Can you screen shot your NOAA settings that configure that please?
