3.9.4 build 3099 won't launch

I'm asking this question for user mdlawler who is blind and has problems posting to the forum using screen reading software:

I just installed Cumulus MX 3.9.4 build 3099 and it won't launch
as I get an error. Here is the diags file. ran with the -debug parameter to get more information. This is a new installation. I just unzipped and ran cumulusmx -debug

I did try this as both an admin user and a normal user with the same results. I have done the
netsh http add urlacl url=http://*:8998/ user=\users command and it didn't make any difference.

If anybody has any ideas I will pass them on to Michael.

We have a fix for this in the next release!
That doesn't help much here, but the cause is the internet being configured in the config file, but not the station.

The solution is to...

1. Stop Cumulus.
2. Edit Cumulus.ini and disable the upload of the graph data files...

5. Stop/Start Cumulus
6. Re-enable Graph data file uploads in Internet settings | Web/FTP settings

Okay, I will ask. I have already asked about accessibility of the forum and he says there isn't a problem there - it is just the sheer volume of subforums and topics that makes it difficult to maintain a mental map of what is there.

@mcrossley - just one accessibility observation from Michael, involving the Settings |-> Extra Web Files page of the interface:

I just had my son help me and he says that there are boxes that you can click on for each local and remote file, but I can not see them with the Cromium Edge or Firefox and Narrator or NVDA screen readers. Also when I tab through the page the browser skips these boxes with no keyboard access.

You misunderstand. Michael is blind and uses specialised software to do what we do with our eyes. Have a look at the whole thread.

Thanks a tricky one, that page uses EditableGrid.net to automatically build the page.

Tabbing doesn't seem to work well with it, you have to click on the filenames for instance to edit them. Tabbing for me only skips between the check boxes. And because they do not have labels it does not read the column header either! Just the time you would want it to read column header

I've had a quick look at this...

Tab navigation when you load the page only tabs between the local/remote file names. But if you select a checkbox, it then only tabs between the checkboxes!
I'm not entirely sure why it behaves like this

To navigate the whole table a cell at a time you have to use the cursor keys (down/right = forwards, up/left = backwards). The cursor position is only visible when Narrator is active.

I have added a custom renderer to the checkbox code that adds a label to each checkbox, but places them off the top of the screen so they cannot be seen. The Narrator still reads them in the correct place OK though. This will be in the next release.

I just had what is very likely the same error on a fresh installation of the Raspberry Pi image. In case useful to anyone, here is what shows up if I ask sytemctl for status of CumulusMX

As this was the first run ever for CumulusMX, Cumulus.ini does not already exist. So I amended Mark's repair instruction to be:

1. Stop Cumulus eg sudo systemctl stop cumulusmx
2a. If you have used CumulusMX previously, edit the Cumulus.ini file to include the section below, which disables upload of the graph data files...
2b. If you have not used it before, the file will not exist. Create a new Cumulus.ini file in the CumulusMX main directory, with the following content to disable the upload of the graph data files...
