From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

CumuulusMX dashboard empty

Post by geoffw »

My Oregon WMR200 has stopped sending data to my PC for some reason, yet it appears to be receiving it from the weather station. I was using an earlier version of MX but have now updated to the latest, but I still have the problem.

You can see on the date on my signature weather banner I should has sorted this some time ago. The reading on the Oregon Console see accurate and correct. Any suggestions?

You look like you're on the same computer that MX is running on. So why don't you try accessing the interface on http://localhost:8998/

Also, are you sure that your IP address is still 192.168.1.21?

Hi Freddie,

first of all the IP address is accurate, I am able to access control panel and even review data up to it stopping at entry 4048 14/09/20 in the Dayfile.txt file that control panel can read. Nothing since, yet as you can see from my screen shot with my initial message the PC is connecting with the station, and the station console is giving the current weather data.

Looking at the Charts everything was fine up to just before mid-day on the 14th September, though some of my charts do look a bit weird (see attached daily temperature chart) and my banner shows data was interrupted on the 3rd September, while my website (http://www.winterman.org.uk/weather/index.htm) was last updated at 00:34 on 29 August 2020.

All very confusing!

The weird graph is due to duplicate entries in dayfile.txt. It looks as if you may find the following:

28/08/20
29/08/20
09/09/20
29/08/20
30/08/20
31/08/20
01/09/20
02/09/20 etc.

That is nothing to do with the lack of data on your interface screen, though.

Could you please zip up the contents of your MXdiags folder and attach to a post on here? Then we can have a look.

I have two MXDiags folders. MXDiagsOLD being the version I have been using since I upgraded from Cumulus 1, and MXDigsNEW they upgrade I made recently earlier this week in the hope that upgrading might solve my problem. Unfortunately the Forum software is rejecting MXDiadsOLD a being too big to upload. It is 44,795kb.

Thank you for your help and interest. I have been using Cumulus since June 2009.

Regards Geoff

Just to let you you know that CumulusMX came back to life just before 7.00pm this evening. I did nothing except an hour or so earlier I turned off Cumulus (Ctrl+C) while I copied the MXDiag folder ready to upload a copy here, and then turned it back on again by re-starting it.

I still have to tidy up my data and see how much and what has been lost. I don't know what you will find as it is all a bit of a mystery to me.

One other issue. I am setting out to edit errors in my Dayfile.txt file, but at the start it is giving me the following error message:

just curious, do you use a mysql database?

when you updated to the latest MX version did you update the sql data tables too with the supplied sql file? not sure what version you were running from to start with however.

I maybe wrong but it might be something to do with that, unless the dayfile is corrupt somehow.

No I didn't Colin. This needs looking in to. Playing with sql data files is getting a bit beyond my pay grade!
