And true to form the cups start spinning again after 24 hours of inactivity. Bizarre. I've ordered a new wind cartridge from ProData and will be getting a supercapacitor by Friday.
Cheers,
Ray, Cheshire.

It’s the most stress I have in my otherwise quiet life. :D Replacement cartridge enroute from ProData.

A busy day. My mate first swapped out the old anemometer cartridge for the new one. There didn’t appear to be much dirt inside it but he said the new cartridge is a different design to the one it replaced so maybe Davis found a flaw and fixed it. The old cartridge still appears serviceable after a clean and has been retained.

Next was replacing the failed super capacitor on the ane tx. That was a quick job. It just remains to be seen whether any damage was caused to the circuit board. I’ll know around 7:30pm when the capacitor takes over from the solar panel.

Finally, a good cleanup for the ISS which had not been done for 18 months.
Cheers,
Ray, Cheshire.

Hopefully Hans but I'll only know around sunset when the capacitor should kick in.
Cheers,

Supercaps rated at 2.7V and the voltage across them 3V so not surprised they go pop after a while. I've been replacing mine over the years so got a small stock :)
