Hi,
profzarkov wrote: Sun 23 Feb 2020 8:31 am Strange the UV info still comes thru.
The UV (and Solar Lux) data is encoded in the "Solar Pod" and sent as a separate data packet directly to the "transmitter" section of the "External Unit" (via the 6-way cable into the "rain" socket). So obviously the radio transmitter itself is still functional, but the microcontroller section (which reads T/H/Wind, etc. and encodes this data) has failed or is being upset by moisture, etc. on the circuit board.

The 1080 actually uses/supports three separate wireless data packets, for "External Data", for "Solar Data" and for "Radio Controlled Time" (the receiver is located in the External Unit). As said, the glued enclosures usually can be prised open with a knife or credit card, which may be worthwhile because it probably uses the far superior FSK wireless protocol and hardware, compared with the more recent (low cost) OOK.

Cheers, Alan.

Hello, again
Same problem.
This time I managed to get the transmitter apart.
Nothing seemed remiss so I wd40’d things and cleaned with cotton buds.
Gently drying with a hairdryer....still to no avail.
Red led stays on.
I’ll let it dry completely indoors and see how it goes.
Can one buy a new board??
Cheers
Steve

Ps pic attached of my board

Have you tried going over the solder joints with a soldering iron. I have done that in the past to fix intermittent lockups.

Well, the old board died so I've put the new unit in and all's well. But, recently it's been locking up. Station and sensors fine, just the usual...lost contact...you may have to reset station. Which means it's cumulus...I've added those extra EW lines to the ini file....not sure what else to do...
