MX release 3.5.0 and later

From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

MX release 3.5.0 and later

Post by freddie »

Cumulus MX 3.5.0 is going to be released very soon. In this release, the Highcharts code will no longer be included in the distribution zip file - instead, it will be directly referenced from the Highsoft CDN. Under most circumstances this will not affect the functionality of your website or interface. However if you run your website or interface from a location that does not have an internet connection then your Highcharts functionality will not work. If this is the case with your setup, then you will need to download your own copy of the Highcharts code from the Highsoft website. It is likely the case that there will not be many users in this situation - but if you are then you should be aware of this additional installation step.

Should you need local copies of the scripts, you will need to recreate the old configuration by downloading the following files...

The highstock.js file then needs to be placed in the following locations...
<CMX_Folder>/Interface/lib/highstock/js/ - For the interface
<Your_FTP_Server>/js/lib/highstock/js/ - For your web site

The grid.js file needs to be placed in the following locations...
<CMX_Folder>/Interface/lib/highstock/js/themes/ - For the interface
<Your_FTP_Server>/js/lib/highstock/js/themes/ - For your web site

Then you need to edit the interface file...
Change lines 20,21 from
<script src="https://code.highcharts.com/stock/8.0/h ... "></script>
<script src="https://code.highcharts.com/themes/grid.js"></script>
<script src="lib/highstock/js/highstock.js"></script>
<script src="lib/highstock/js/themes/grid.js"></script>

And finally edit the web site file
Change lines 135,136 from
<script src="https://code.highcharts.com/stock/8.0/h ... "></script>
<script src="https://code.highcharts.com/themes/grid.js"></script>
<script src="js/lib/highstock/js/highstock.js"></script>
<script src="js/highstock/js/themes/grid.js"></script>

As mentioned previously, this will only affect users whose interface and/or website do not have an internet connection - therefore this will affect very few users.
