Davis Vantage Pro2 ISS
My ISS unit has been up for 1 year now. The manual suggests the replacement battery should last about 2 years. Is 2 years realistic for the Pro2 ISS in the south of the UK?

I would think so, mine last longer than 2 years.

Re: Davis Vantage Pro2 ISS
I am not in the south of the UK but I changed my first VP2 ISS battery after 2 years because I thought I should, and then the next set was nearly 7 years when I decided to replace it.
We get good sunshine in the summer and much less in wintertime.
Enjoy,
Paul

Re: Davis Vantage Pro2 ISS
Up here in the grim north my VP2 has been running for 10.5 years and I’ve changed the battery in the ISS probably no more than 3 times. Max 4.

Re: Davis Vantage Pro2 ISS
I also have this problem, the battery only lasts about 10 months, the replacement is always a reputable brand and the internal contacts are clean and dry. The station is about 8 years old and 18 months ago I changed the capacitor.
So my thoughts are the solar panel is not producing the full out put and needs replacement. What should the output be ? I suspect 5v but cannot find that info. Has anyone found a replacement panel which would fit the Davis housing or alternatively a stand alone external panel.
My thoughts are that a third party panel with a slightly higher output would help to maintain the charge.
Any thoughts on this problem?
Regards. Pete
