HELP WITH UTF8

Post by josebp »

Hello, I have problems with the coding of the pages in UTF8
In some pages I put "España" and it looks correct and in others I have to put "España" (it's an example)..
What do I have wrong to be able to use only the pages in UTF8?
The server where the domain is hosted is in UTF8 and it is very difficult to guess what I have to put in order to look good in Spanish.
Thank you.
Regards,

Gracias.
Saludos,
José Ramón

One for Ken (Saratoga) True ...

I thought 'World' templates were UTF8, obviously not.
Your index page says

Code: Select all

    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1" />
Edit: bad advice, see post below.
The other thing of course, any editing use a reputable code editor (eg. Notepad++) and make sure page is converted / edited / saved in UTF8

The Saratoga templates all use ISO languages (not UTF-8) natively. For Spanish, ISO-8859-1 is used.

When you edit the template files (.txt, .html, .php) make sure your editor is set to ANSI (or ISO-8859-1) and not UTF-8. Mixing in UTF-8 characters to the template will result is odd displays of the multi-byte special characters.
