Re: Error reading data from station - it may need resetting
You are only getting the error intermittently, along with bad data. The "normal" failure mode for Fine Offsets is for a hard failure that needs a reset.
If you have tried the full power reset, then look at the USB connection, cables, hub, power management etc.
Don't know if anybody else has any suggestions? I all that fails, then you may just have to wait and see if it degrades to the point of failure!

I don't think it's the cable, else it'll work or it won't. I am not getting no usb connections errors within the syslog.
I disconnected the cable and took the batteries out and let it resync up and same problem. disconnected the cable and it wasn't detected. reconnected the cable again it works but still getting the error messages.
it's moaning about the rain reset. the rain gauge is hit or miss if it reads any rain being captured. it's probably more likely a weather device on it's way out.

Try re-soldering the usb socket in the station as that has been a common problem for earlier consoles.

The USB socket on the console is a bit lose fitting. A dry joint can cause a intermittent problem to occur.

Has anyone had these sort of errors before?
Before I start messing around with stuff i'd thought i'd check if you've come across these before?

Re: Error reading data from station - it may need resetting
I have a very large pressure offset on my old FO console. It happened after I powered the console off one time and has stayed like that ever since. The good news is that it just appears to be an offset value, once corrected with a large value the pressure reading works fine.
The rain counter is stored in the transmitter, I *think* it will reset when you power reset the transmitter.
