Actually VPrainGaugeType=1 is not in the cumulus ini page. If you take a look closely you have to go here https://cumuluswiki.wxforum.net/a/Cumulus_MX in the A note to davis owners section to find it. What's present in the ini is DavisRainCollectorModel=X which does not seem to work with cumulus mx.
But values are now fine. This entry in the ini seems to have corrected the situation. Thanks for your help.

Ah, the DavisRainCollectorModel is for Cumulus 1 only - if you follow the link to the CumulusMX ini file page it is documented there.
I wasn't aware of the change in parameter name between v1 and MX, I'll add it to the "things to change on migration" page as well.
EDIT: It was already there.
A big effort but we probably need to reorganise the Wiki and make all the MX information "current version" and make the v1 specific stuff "legacy"
